Genshin Impact provides players with ample opportunities for exploration. Apart from its expansive map, the game boasts an impressive assortment of weapons and Artifact Sets for players to collect and equip their own characters with.
Although Travelers will regularly find one, two, and three-star weapons, throughout their Genshin Impact adventures, the game generally reserves four and five-star items for special occasions. While some of the game's four-star weapons are accessible via special quests or blacksmiths, its most valuable weapons are nearly all obtained in the same way.
Despite being a four-star, The Flute, like many of Genshin Impact's five-star weapons, is available exclusively via Wish. Players hoping to obtain one of these swords will only be able to receive one as a reward from the game's summon banners, though thankfully, it drops from all three of them. Every Wish upon a banner costs 160 Primogems, in some form, so players in pursuit of a flute should come equipped with stuffed wallets.
The Flute is part of the game's Wanderer's Troupe series of weapons, which insofar as lore, is closely associated with the Wanderer's Troupe Artifact Set. Aside from The Flute, the Wanderer's Troupe series consists of The Bell (claymore), The Widsith (catalyst), and The Stringless (bow) - there is currently no polearm. This series of weapons doesn't share a Passive Ability, but each of the four weapons it comprises is a remarkable piece of Genshin Impact equipment nonetheless. The Flute, specifically, provides ATK boosts as its Base Stat and Secondary Stat bonuses, while its ability, "Chord," creates a powerful area of effect (AoE) attack after every five hits.
More precisely, players using The Flute will earn one "Harmonic," which lasts up to 30 seconds, after every Normal or Charged ATK hit (up to a max of one Harmonic per 0.5 seconds). Once these Harmonics stack up to five, the player triggers the "power of music," which in this case refers to a 100 percent ATK DMG AoE blast. When fully Refined, The Flute's AoE blast will deal a full 200 percent damage, which means that players will effectively trigger a double-damage explosion after every 5 standard hits.
Needless to say, this rare sword would benefit any of the game's high-damage swordspeople. While Jean might use The Flute to support her own healing abilities, characters like Keqing might enjoy the raw power boost, and the more-than-occasional musical blast. And the fact it's available from not only the Weapons-only banner, but also the Standard and Special Banner, is a nice touch. The game's newest five-star weapons are usually only available from the Weapons-only Banner, for example, so this makes finding The Flute a slight bit less daunting.
And even though Refining this (or any) weapon four times would require four additional copies of it, The Flute's ability is more than powerful enough at Level 1. Whereas other rare weapons might impose some sort of substantial time limit, being able to trigger the Chord effect after a mere 5 swipes is an indispensable benefit.
