Fluorescent Fungus is one of the Local Specialties available in Genshin Impact. The glowing mushroom can only be seen on Tsurumi Island and is actually one of the few items there. This fungus is also the only mushroom species available in the area. Because of this, a mushroom enthusiast named Abe asks the Traveler to bring them this fungus.

When players first reach Tsurumi Island in Genshin Impact 2.2, it will be covered in fog. Travelers have to finish a series of quests to lift the fog off. While it's not impossible to traverse through the island with the fog intact, cleared air will make their journey to locate this rare specimen much easier.

Updated on November 30, 2023, by Nahda Nabiilah: While leveling up characters is an essential task if Travelers wish to have strong teams and the ability to beat tougher enemies, as of version 4.2, Fluorescent Fungus is only needed for one 4-Star character. Therefore, players might want to save time and effort if they don’t have Thoma on their characters list or don’t plan on using him anytime soon. If players are trying to raise the housekeeper, however, here are all the Fluorescent Fungus locations in Genshin Impact.

Of course, to unlock Tsurumi Island, people have to make their way to the Electro Region of Inazuma first. To unlock Inazuma, players need to reach Adventure Rank 30 and finish the Archon Quest Chapter II: Act I – The Immovable God and Eternal Euthymia. Then, finish the Seirai Stormchasers Quest on Seirai Island. At the end of this quest, Travelers will obtain a purple feather. This item will be crucial for their quest on Tsurumi.

Next, initiate a quest series called Through the Mist. Doing so will instantly teleport players to Tsurumi Island. This World Quest requires a few real-life days to finish. After completing the quests, the fog will be lifted for good, and players can finally enjoy their time exploring the land.
