Following the big version 2 update back in July, Genshin Impact has been enjoying its largest expansion to date with new content and the arrival of Cross Save functionality. Players who were Adventure Rank 30 or above gained access to the new land of Inazuma, a world clearly inspired by the real-world country of Japan. The region features new Electro-based mechanics and brought with it new storylines as well as characters such as the pryo bow users Yoimiya and the Cryo-sword user Kamisato Ayaka.

However, at the start of this major update, MiHoYo confirmed that this was only the beginning, as more content would be coming in future updates including a early look at the Horizon: Zero Dawn crossover event. While fans got a sneak peak at upcoming characters like Baal due to an unfortunate leak, MiHoYo has finally confirmed all of the details in Update 2.1 thanks to a new trailer which covers all of the new content coming.

For many, the big showcase surrounds the three new characters being made available to unlock through the game's Gatcha System. The first in this set is the Raiden Shogun herself, Narukami Ogosho, the vessel of Baal who is the Electro Archon of Inazuma. An Electro Polearm user, the trailer showcases her ability to cause tons of damage in rapid strikes, even pulling a sword from her chest to finish the fight.

The other two characters showcased were the electro bow user Kujou Sara as well as Sangonomiya Kokomi, who uses a catalyst weapon in the shape of a fish armed with hydro based abilities. While Kokomi and the Raiden Shogun are 5 star characters, Kujou is available at 4 stars.

The trailer also goes on to showcase three new 5 star weapons including the Engulfing Lightning naginata and Everlasting Moonglow catalyst, along with 4 star weaponms like the Luxurious Sea-Lord claymore that looks like a long fish, "The Catch" polearm, and a Predator Bow.

In addition to characters and weapons, players will see the new Weekly boss Signora. According to MiHoYo, Signora is the Eighth of the Fatui Harbinders, though how she translates to the game is currently unknown.

New events in Update 2.1 for Genshin Impact include the Hyakunin Ikki, a free-for-all fighting tournament inside Inazuma City. The event lets players pick two character to dive into battle with as well as the skills they bring with them. The Lunar Realm is a place where players can fish including a chance to catch a legendary great fish called the Lunar Leviathan. The final event is the Spectral Secrets which has players hunting elemental life forms in an effort to gather information for Katheryne.

The final piece to Update 2.1 are the Moonlight Merriment activities, which involve helping a chef named Xiangling, locating hidden Moonchase Charms and Mystmoon Chests across the land, as well as a quest known as the Trail of Delicacies which has players following a path to find rewards while also defeating enemies.

Genshin Impact is available right now for mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5.
