With the release of the Genshin Impact Version 2.1 Update, a robust fishing system has been added to the game. Throughout its first year of service, Genshin Impact has periodically added a number of side activities for players to enjoy in the world of Teyvat. This has included permanent additions such as a player housing system, as well as limited-time event activities like rhythm mini-games. The implementation of a fishing system gives Travelers new ways to earn rewards and improve their own personal in-game home. Intrepid fishers can use this guide to reference the various fishing locations in Genshin Impact.

There are a couple of prerequisites for unlocking the fishing system in Genshin Impact. First, the player must unlock the Serenitea Pot housing system. Then, the player must complete the Exploding Population world quest given by Katheryne in Mondstadt. This quest requires an Adventure Rank of 28 or higher, so new players will have some work to do before they can start fishing.

Updated November 23, 2021, by Nahda Nabiilah: After Genshin Impact 2.2 introduced Tsurumi Island, a lot of new content has been added. However, players can’t explore the new island fully unless they solve the mystery and cleanse it from the fog forever. They can do that by helping a small boy named Ruu. After doing so, Travelers can unlock an extra fishing spot on the island. In total, there are two new ripples to fish on in Tsurumi. One is unlocked by default, while the other requires players to assist a certain ghost of the island.

Fishing Locations In Genshin Impact

As of the release of the fishing system with Version 2.1, there are fishing locations in Mondstadt, Liyue, and Inazuma. At these locations, Travelers can search for ripples in the water and start fishing using the appropriate Fishing Rod and Bait. Players should make sure to craft plenty of Bait at a crafting table before heading out on a fishing trip. It should be noted that fish will respawn at their location every 3 days.

Mondstadt Fishing Locations

Players will likely spend their first moments with a rod wrangling fish in Mondstadt. Some fish, like the Tea-Colored Shirakodai, are exclusive to this region just like some other Mondstadt local specialties.

Fishing location in Chirai Shrine and Autake Plains

The two new fishing spots are on Tsurumi Island, Inazuma. The first location is West of Chirai Shrine. After players use the Teleport Waypoint, walk down to the west shore to find the spot.

The second is southwest of Autake Plains. it’s a little far from the Waypoint, so Travelers need to do a bit of walking and gliding. The spot is located on a small island that has a Hilichurl Hut on it. Travelers should keep in mind that this location can only be accessible after they talk to Ipe, the ghost.

Fish That Only Appears At Certain Time

It’s important to remember that not all fishes appear at any time. Most notably, the Stickleback and Angelfish family are all time-restricted. Here is a full list of the species that only spawn in the day or night time:
