A Genshin Impact fan has noticed an interesting line of dialogue between Paimon and the Traveler in one of the recent story quests. Paimon serves as the face of the game as she is the Traveler's main companion in their journey through the vast world of Teyvat.

Even though Lumine and Aether are considered the two main protagonists in Genshin Impact, Paimon is actually the one that does most of the talking when they meet other characters. There have been multiple fan-made theories about this unique creature since there is not a lot of information about her origin.

During the first part of Nilou's story quest named "The Warm Rhythm of the Streets," Genshin Impact's new Hydro user revealed that players should bring some sort of gift to the celebration hosted by the Zubayr Theater. After the Traveler jokingly asked Paimon to get in a box, she angrily responded with the line "Paimon's gonna put YOU in a box first!" Reddit user k_u_r_o_r_o has pointed out that this line could be related to one of the first scenes in Genshin Impact in which the unknown god traps one of the Travelers in a cubic-like seal. One of the most popular fan-made theories over the last couple of years is that Paimon is actually the mysterious god shown in the opening cutscene.

Genshin Impact Paimon and Lumine

There is almost no information about this fairly-like character who appeared out of nowhere. The most mysterious part about Paimon is probably the fact that there are no similar creatures in the world of Teyvat. In Genshin Impact's Aranyaka world quest, the NPC Arama who is known for his wisdom refers to Paimon as a silver being just like the moon and the sky.

This dialogue led many players to believe that Paimon could also be one of the three Moon Sisters. The three sisters, Canon, Sonnet and Aria are believed to be some of the oldest beings in Teyvat alongside the ancient Seelie. They are confirmed to be even older than the Morax, also known as the God of Contracts, who is revealed as the oldest out of the seven Genshin Impact Archons.

Paimon's connection to the Moon sisters was also hinted at by Kazuha's first appearance in the Liyue region. This wandering Samurai has stated that both the Traveler and Paimon have the "essence of stars" alluding to their connection to outer space.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
