Genshin Impact's playable roster is filled with unique anime-inspired characters that remain the main focus of every new update. Developer HoYoverse keeps introducing at least one new character per each update with Yelan being the game's most recent addition.
The game's unique approach to character design is often a source of inspiration for fans to create their own piece of art. A new post on the Genshin Impact subreddit shows a funny pixilated animation featuring two popular characters.
Reddit user Yexlir has shared their pixelated piece of art that shows the limited five-star characters, Ayaka and Yomiya, in a Summer-themed outfit. The art piece shows the two characters struggling through a very hot Summer day but luckily Ayaka's Cryo abilities make things much easier. Yexlir is known in the Genshin Impact community for making similar pixelated art forms that include the game's characters. The animation was absolutely loved by the fan base as the post gathered over 19k upvotes.
Multiple replies in the comment section praise the concept claiming that it even managed to accurately portray Ayaka's 10-second cooldown on her Elemental Skill - Kamisato Art: Hyouka. A couple of comments claim that it's a shame that the game doesn't go deeper into the friendship between the two characters. Both Ayaka and Yoimiya arrived back in Genshin Impact update 2.0 which started the whole Inazuma arc. Since then, Kamisato Ayaka appeared on one banner re-run during the previous Genshin Impact update 2.6.
Even though she was the only limited five-star character featured on that banner cycle, Ayaka's second appearance has become the most successful banner in Genshin Impact's history in terms of revenue. The two main reasons for this are probably that fact that she is one of the strongest DPS characters in the game and because the banner duration was extended due to the Version 2.7 delay which gave players more time to pull on her banner.
Yoimiya is another Genshin Impact DPS characters with a strong focus on single target damage. Recent rumors have revealed that she will most likely receive her first banner re-run in the upcoming Genshin Impact Version 2.8 which should arrive around mid-August. Both of the characters were fairly overlooked during their first release probably because update 2.0 was more focused on the introduction of a brand new major region. The absence of any official five-star character announcement for 2.8 means that she will most likely be joined by another re-run which, according to previous leaks, will most likely feature the Anemo user Kazuha.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
