With Zhongli's banner coming to an end soon, a new one is just over the horizon. Genshin Impact released a new trailer highlighting the upcoming five-star character Eula and her noble lineage.
Fans first heard of Eula when she leaked just before Genshin Impact's Version 1.4 update landed. She was revealed alongside Yanfei, who can currently be wished for on Zhongli's ongoing banner. Knowing that her banner is coming up soon, the leaks likely came from datamines during closed beta testing like many other leaked Genshin Impact characters. Essentially all of Eula's information was already revealed weeks ago, including her playstyle and even her idle animations, quickly taking the spotlight off of Ayaka and Scaramouche, who are somewhere on the horizon.
The newest Genshin Impact trailer reveals Eula, who should have a banner starting approximately May 18 once Zhongli's banner comes to an end. Also per the leaks and confirmed by the new trailer, Eula comes from a line of ancient nobles, the Lawrence clan. According to the trailer, the Lawrence clan has a troubled history of clamoring for vengeance after its aristocracy over Mondstadt was overthrown by Lady Vanessa. The Knights of Favonius was created by Lady Vanessa solely for this purpose.
Based on the trailer, Eula seems to be a character with a cold front, much like her Cryo Vision. But the video shows her sharing a drink with the Traveler, opening up about her family's history and how it's affected the way others view her. Eula believes that other customers in the bar are avoiding her because of her family's ugly history. As a member of the Lawrence family and the Knights of Favonius, it's possible that others believe she has sinister intentions.
But on the inside, Eula is a kind-hearted individual who doesn't seem to strive to meet the Lawrence clans' goals, but perhaps Genshin Impact hasn't seen the last of this aristocratic family. Whatever the case, it's likely that fans will get to experience Eula's full story through her character quests.
Eula, also known as the Spindrift Knight, is a Captain of the Knights of Favonius alongside Kaeya and Albedo, heading the Reconnaissance Company. Her fighting style is possibly the most elegant of all heavy swordsmen and women on Genshin Impact's roster. However, she's also the first Genshin Impact five-star to wield both, easily making her a popular choice to spend Primogems on when the 18th rolls around.
Genshin Impact is out now for mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, and is currently in development for Switch.
