In Genshin Impact, the gameplay is defined by the set of seven elements that make up the world. Of these, none make quite an impression like the lightning element, Electro. Featuring striking, fast-paced attacks, Electro is one of two energy-based elements, along with Pyro.

Home to some of the most distinguished characters in the game, there's a lot that fans aren't aware of about the electric element. From its interesting status effects to its difficult opponents, Electro houses quite a few secrets that will heavily increase the strength of any Genshin Impact player.

10 Its Shocking Status Effects

Status effects make up a large portion of strategy in Genshin Impact. Yet, many aren't aware of what Electro status even does. To an extent this isn't a surprise given how invisible the effect actually is; Electro status drains the energy recharge of the player and their enemies.

This can be especially great against opponents with constant attacks, like the Fatui Harbingers. That said, be aware that some opponents will be afflicted by Electro status for a short amount of time. In these cases, it may be better to switch to a different element.

9 A Lot Of Elemental Reactions

Like status effects, elemental reactions are the basis of all combat in Genshin Impact. Most elements react with each other in some way, but a select few are easier to apply than others. Electro is one of these elements.

In-game, Electro reacts like Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, Anemo, and Geo. Generally, because of the element's shorter affliction time, Electro is a better spark than a fuel. This is obviously not the case in Swirl and Crystalize reactions, given that Anemo and Geo do not have lasting status effects.

8 Its Relationship With Water

While elements mingling often creates elemental reactions, it's more uncommon for the reaction to occur with the environment. Some of these include ice bridges with Cryo, burning with Pyro, and electro-charging with Electro.

This occurs when Electro meets a body of water, causing the electric energy to make a hazardous zone. Lasting for a temporary amount of time, this area causes AOE electro damage to anything that passes through it.

7 Superconduct

Superconduct confuses many Genshin Impact fans. This is the case where Cryo meets Electro (or vice versa). To put it lightly, how the damage is implemented confuses many in the community. Superconduct applied AOE Cryo damage, making it ideal for crowded situations.

The effect also lowers resistance to physical damage. Generally, the best strategy for superconduct effects is to apply for the status and then attack with a sword, claymore, or polearm. Given that these use primarily physical attacks, these will usually apply the most damage.

6 An Electrifying Resonance

Resonance is the lifeblood of any team in Genshin Impact, the backbone working behind the scenes. For Electro resonance, teams will be affected by Hydro for 40% less time. This makes it ideal for people fighting by water sources for extended amounts of time.

In addition, Electro reactions will now generate energy particles (with a 5-second cooldown). To be frank, this is an overpowering effect, allowing Electro characters to use their bursts more often.

5 The Electro Hypostasis

Currently, there is only one overland boss that uses primarily Electro. This is the Electro Hypostasis, located in the south of Mondstadt. While this foe may give players trouble at first, it's fairly easy to defeat after memorizing its attacks.

There a few that tend to give fans trouble. Rock, Paper, Scissors (it's exactly what it sounds like), is an issue of dashing exactly when the attack hits. Its spinning bullet attack is also fairly tricky: players will need to locate themselves as far away as possible and focus carefully on the bullets' paths.

4 It Likes To Interrupt

One feature of the Electro status that is often forgotten about is its ability to interrupt. Expressed as a momentary shock, this temporary immobility will prove annoying for players. Characters inflicted with this interruption will also have charged skills and bursts canceled.

Luckily for players, this interruption is also applied to enemies. Though not as noticeable, this will slow their movement temporarily. This is the perfect opportunity to set up high-powered attacks against heavy resistance opponents, like the Mitachurl.

3 The Homeland of Electro

Genshin Impact Ayaka Fan

The country of the Electro goddess, what type of country could hold such an image? This is Inazuma, an island country near Liyue that has been closed off from the world. Isolated, the country has been in turmoil and tension at the island nation's ruler leadership.

Nonetheless, Inazuma wasn't always this way. Before the Vision Hunt Decree, Inazuma was likely fairly prosperous. Only then could prosperous businesses like the Uyuu Restaurant and Yae Publishing House exist.

2 Who Receives An Electro Vision

Every Archon gives out visions for a reason. Even the Raiden Shogun has a preference for vision-holder. Characters that hold Electro visions tend to be isolated from society in one way or another.

Fischl was isolated by her personality, originally for her shyness and then for her eccentric nature. Razor was abandoned and raised by wolves, isolated from human society in Mondstadt. Even Keqing, who does hold high esteem and reputation, isolated herself as the only person to not honor the gods.

1 The Raiden Shogun

The tension of Inazuma is sourced in the degree of the island country's shogun. The Raiden Shogun, Baal, is a rather unknown character at the moment (to be announced very soon). However, fans can get an image of the Raiden Shogun if they connect the dots.

She is obsessed with eternity (quite ironic for an element like Electro), clearly prideful of her history as an Archon. Unlike the other Archons that players meet in Mondstadt and Liyue, Baal is likely to be more hostile. That said, based on her vision-giving habits, even she may have a soft side.
