Genshin Impact has become one of the most popular titles in the gaming industry since its arrival back in September 2020. While the game is available on multiple platforms, it is yet to appear on the Nintendo Switch.

The absence of any recent Genshin Impact announcements about the game's arrival on the Switch has led most players to doubt if the game will ever be released on this platform. Apart from a YouTube trailer back at the start of 2020, there has been almost no official information about the Switch version of the game.

Many Genshin Impact players speculate that Genshin Impact's absence from the Nintendo Switch is due to the game being very similar to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which is an iconic Switch exclusive. In an interview with GoNintendo, one of the game's representatives provided the following statement: "The Switch version is still in development, and we will release more information as we progress further along." Even though this short statement does not reveal any specific information, many players are still satisfied that developer HoYoverse did not give up on the idea to bring Genshin Impact to the Nintendo Switch.

The Nintendo Switch is an innovative console which allows players to switch between handheld gaming and TV gaming at any time. This means that Genshin Impact is a perfect fit for this console considering that the game is optimized both for TV screens and mobile devices. However, there is a good chance that there won't be any additional statements on this matter in the foreseeable future as HoYoverse face serious development issues due to the ongoing lockdown in Shanghai.

Most recently, the game has introduced a brand-new character named Kamisato Ayato as part of the first banner cycle of update 2.6. However, the game's official social media accounts have already revealed that the release date for the upcoming Genshin Impact update 2.7 will get delayed. This is the first time a Genshin Impact update has been delayed as the game follows a very strict update schedule with each cycle lasting approximately six weeks.

While many Genshin Impact rumors claimed that a new limited character banner will arrive with the banner extension, the absence of any official announcements confirm that there won't be character re-runs in the third part of the update. The game has confirmed that Genshin Impact players will receive compensation rewards, which will include 400 Primogems for each week of the delay.

Genshin Impact is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is currently in development.
