Genshin Impact players have noticed an interesting detail about the Elemental Skill icon for the Hydro user Sangonomiya Kokomi. This was one of the first characters to arrive in the Inazuma region back in update 2.1 alongside the Electro Archon Raiden Shogun.

Kokomi is known as the Divine Priestess of Watatsumi Island who handles the affairs of the region, similar to Jean's job in Mondstadt. This five-star Genshin Impact character is also a skillful military strategist who prevented the Tenryou Commission's victory against the Watatsumi Army.

A new post by Reddit user Elecwizer has pointed out an interesting detail about Kokomi's Elemental Skill, The Shape of Water. The icon of this skill is very similar to omega, the last letter in the Greek alphabet. This letter is used as a symbol for ohm, which is the unit of electrical resistance in the International System of Units. The icon design is symbolic since the Ceremonial Garment effect that's provided by Kokomi's Elemental Skill increases her resistance to interruption. The effect also buffs the damage of her Normal Attacks that can also heal nearby members of Kokomi's team composition. Fans seem to love this detailed approach to character design as the post reached over 12k on the official Genshin Impact subreddit.

Even though she was one of the first five-star characters in Inazuma, many players skipped Kokomi's release banner. The main reason is probably that she was placed on the same banner as the Inazuma Archon Raiden Shogun who appeared in the first part of the update. At the time of her release, Kokomi was widely considered to be just a slightly stronger five-star version of Barbara. However, the recent introduction of the new Dendro element has made Kokomi a valuable pick in the current meta.

Her Hydro application can hardly be matched by any other character in the game which makes her the go-to choice for the Bloom team composition. This elemental reaction can be triggered by combining Hydro and Dendro, and it drops small Dendro cores that explode after a short period. Players should also try to acquire another Hydro character named Nilou whose whole kit revolves around this elemental reaction.

Recent leaks have revealed that Nilou will arrive in the upcoming Genshin Impact update 3.6. She will apparently be placed alongside the Dendro Archon Nahida who is also a must-have unit for the Bloom party. At the moment, she's by far the strongest support in the game that uses the Dendro element.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
