After months of speculation, Genshin Impact finally confirmed that the upcoming Version 3.0 will introduce the long-awaited Sumeru region. The most recent teaser revealed six new characters: Tighnari, Alhaitham, Dehya, Nilou, Nahida, and Cyno.
All of them are expected to have a five-star rarity since the two previously confirmed four-star characters, Collei and Dori, were not featured in the video. Even though the Genshin Impact community seems to be excited about all the upcoming characters, one of them seems to stand out.
Reddit user hammy851 has shared an interesting image showing the results of a Genshin Impact survey done by the game's Chinese and Japanese communities. The first survey required players to pick their favorite between the six characters that were featured in the third Sumeru teaser. Out of these six characters, Nahida, has received 43.48% of the 77k votes. Even though numerous fans voiced their opinions on Reddit claiming that that Nahida's design seems underwhelming, it seems like many of the fan base are very happy about her arrival.
Nahida is overwhelmingly liked in Japan and China, hope her haters won't have a heart attack when her banner sales comes out from Genshin_Impact
According to multiple leakers, Nahida will be the new Dendro Archon who serves as the protector of the Sumeru region. Multiple characters in the game have already claimed that she is the youngest out of the seven Genshin Impact Archons, which is probably one of the reasons why HoYoverse decided to give her a smaller child-like model. As the game's Archon, Nahida is expected to be one of the most important characters in the upcoming story.
Genshin Impact fans have already started theorizing about the upcoming Sumeru arc. The new region is confirmed to be divided into rainforests and deserts which led many fans to believe that Nahida will require the Traveler to help her bring the desert parts back to life. However, this is highly unlikely since previous leaks already confirmed that Sumeru will be based on Egyptian culture and deserts. A lot of the upcoming Genshin Impact characters including the recently revealed Cyno have their outfits based on traditional Egyptian clothes.
When it comes to Nahida's release date, she is expected to arrive in Genshin Impact update 3.2. However, this leak should still be taken with a grain of salt since it would break HoYoverse's pattern of releasing new Archons one update after a new major region arrives. According to Genshin Impact's usual update schedule, Version 3.2 should arrive around mid-October.
Genshin Impact is available for mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5, with a Nintendo Switch version also in development.
