Genshin Impact's newest teaser trailer reveals the first five-star character set to join the game during Version 3.1, Cyno. With the action-RPG's next update less than a week away, HoYoVerse has revealed plenty of what's in store for players in the next version. Version 3.1 will introduce Sumeru's expansive desert region and bring with it a trio of new characters in five-star characters Cyno and Nilou, as well as four-star character Candace. Now, the newest teaser from HoYoVerse has given players their first look at Cyno.

The newest trailer from Genshin Impact, titled "Cyno: A Just Punishment," shows off the "Mahamatra" of Sumeru's Akademiya while introducing the concept of the Akademiya's "Matra." The Matra are said to regulate the flow and proper use of knowledge throughout Sumeru with Cyno acting as the organization's leading general. Cyno's teaser trailer shows off his ruthless personality as he pursues a researcher allying himself with the bandit Eremites. The video also teases the sprawling desert landscapes players will be able to explore during Genshin's coming update.

Cyno was one of three characters revealed during Genshin Impact's Version 3.1 Special Program showing off all the content from the coming update. His banner will also feature the newest four-star coming to the game in the previously mentioned Candace. The gacha banner for both characters will appear during the first half of Genshin Impact Version 3.1 alongside a re-run of popular character Venti. Nilou, who heavily featured in the main story of Version 3.0, will be available for players during Version 3.1's second half banner, paired with a re-run of Albedo.

Cyno's animated trailer comes shortly after Genshin Impact unveiled a major update for the future of animated content for the massively successful RPG. During the 3.1 Special Program, HoYoVerse officially announced a long-term collaboration with popular Japanese animation studio Ufotable. No specific details were given as to the scope of the project, but Ufotable has previously worked on anime adaptations of popular games like the Fate/Stay Night franchise and God Eater.

With the game's newest version right around the corner, fans have already started to look towards the future of Genshin Impact and what's to come next. HoYoVerse recently revealed "Genius Invokation TCG," an in-game Genshin Impact TCG, planned to come to the game in a future update as a permanent gameplay feature. The main story for Version 3.0 also gave fans an advance look at several characters set to come to the game throughout the next versions including Dehya, Alhaitham, and Nahida among others. HoYoVerse will have plenty for fans to look forward to in Genshin Impact's Version 3.1 and beyond.
