With the arrival of Genshin Impact's 1.5 update, players have been able to experience a new housing system, a variety of quality of life improvements, and a new world boss. With the new five-star character Eula set to arrive later this month, Genshin Impact players planning to roll for the character must obtain Crystalline Blooms- a new boss material that is solely dropped by the recently added Cryo Hypostasis.

The Cryo Hypostasis can be found in the Dragonspine region by teleporting to the Wyrmrest Valley waypoint and traveling south. Before attempting the boss, players should adjust their party composition to feature at least one Pyro-dps character. Players might also want to include an electro element character for sub-dps due to its effectiveness against cryo enemies.

Like the other Hypostasis bosses that populate the world, the primary gameplay loop of the fight consists of dodging the Cryo Hypostasis' attacks and then dealing damage when his core is exposed. However, there are several features that are unique to the Cryo Hypostasis fight that players must contend with.

How to Find and Beat Cryo Hypostasis in Genshin Impact

One of the first things that players must pay attention to during the fight is their temperature gauge. Because the boss is found in the Dragonspine region, the party member's temperature gauge will be constantly dropping. Players can raise their temperature by using the various heating totems scattered across the boss arena or by crafting items such as warming bottles.

While the Cryo Hypostasis' various elemental attacks may appear daunting at first, they are clearly telegraphed and can be avoided easily. One of the boss's most common moves is his ice spikes ability. During this ability, a variety of pools will appear around the player that telegraph when ice spikes will emerge from the ground. To avoid the attack, simply run around the arena while avoiding the pools underneath party members.

The bosses ranged attack - cryo barrage- operates similarly to the other Hypostasis bosses. When cast, the boss will transform into a giant pentagram symbol before firing. To avoid the attack, dash multiple times to either the left or right of the attack.

Another easily dodged attack is the boss's AOE ability - Ice Shower. When used, the boss will transform into an umbrella-like shape and shoot icicles 360 degrees around its vicinity. This attack is easily avoided by moving slightly away from the boss.

One of the boss's most challenging moves to dodge is its ice wheel ability. During the fight, the boss will routinely transform into a wheel of ice that will spin towards the character. To dodge the attack, players must dash away from the wheel just before it hits. Because the attack is quite fast and tracks the player, if players dodge too early the wheel will hit the character.

After players have lowered the boss's health to 10 percent it will shoot three "frost fruits" onto the arena field. While players may be tempted to activate their elemental bursts on the frost fruits, to defeat the enemy players must use a charged melee attack on each of the fruits to launch them back towards the Cryo Hypostasis. Once players have launched all three frost fruits back at the Hypostasis its shield will be depleted and players can land the killing blow.
