Genshin Impact players have had two months to enjoy the game now, and as its first major event comes to an end, more hints at what's next continue to surface. Lately, players have been hearing news of a series of new playable characters and soon-to-be accessible regions, but now it seems that a long-awaited piece of armor is finally arriving.

Travelers equip themselves and their teammates with Artifact Sets in order to gain stat boosts and passive bonuses in Genshin Impact. The game currently boasts a sizable collection of these Artifacts for players to discover and refine, however, certain Artifact roles, such as that of that general Cryo buff, remain unfulfilled.

Most recently, Genshin Impact leaker NEP NEP shared incoming Version 1.2 details, including potential events and quality of life (QoL) updates. That said, it seems that there are even more icy updates to be expected with the upcoming Version 1.2, which is currently predicted to arrive on December 23, 2020. As per Redditor u/FortniteSahadu, the much-needed "Cryo generalist" Artifact Set is finally coming to Genshin Impact with the 1.2 patch.

Whereas players can currently find a "generalist" Artifact Set for Pyro (Crimson Witch of Flames), Electro (Thundering Fury), Geo (Archaic Petra), and Anemo (Viridescent Verener), there are no such sets for the Cryo and Hydro Elements. Players taking advantage of the newly arrived Tartaglia, or Diona, for example, don't have a simple go-to Artifact to slap onto their new summons, but as of this leak, the Blizzard Strayer Set is aiming to change that for Cryo users, at least.

The "generalist" Artifacts all boost their respective Element's DMG by 15 percent when equipped as a two-piece set, but when equipped as four-piece sets, they each offer entirely unique secondary abilities. The Blizzard Strayer Artifact Set, as of now, will apparently affect a user's CRIT Rate, which already makes it a standout Artifact Set.

Its current description says that it will increase a character's CRIT Rate by 20 percent when they attack an enemy affected by Cryo. Moreover, if the enemy is Frozen, the user's CRIT Rate will be increased by an additional 20 percent. A guaranteed 40 percent CRIT Rate boost is unprecedented, and along with its 15 percent Cryo DMG bonus will make characters like Qiqi, Chongyun, and the leaked five-star archer Ganyu, all the more intimidating.

This Artifact Set's arrival is rumored to come together with the introduction of several new Cryo enemies, such as a "Frost Lawachurl," so players should expect to see numerous ice-themed additions as part of the Version 1.2 update. This makes sense, given that the update is set to officially introduce Dragonspine, the dangerous icy mountain range that's currently present but inaccessible on the map. Nonetheless, Travelers will simply have to wait.

Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for Switch.
