Gathering materials is a vital part of the Genshin Impact experience, as these can be used to upgrade equipment, ascend characters, and even cook meals that boost stats. Unfortunately, it can sometimes be a bit confusing in regards to where a player should look for a particular material and how to harvest it, as is the case with Cor Lapis.
Cor Lapis has one major use in Genshin Impact, and that is as an ascension material for both Chongyung and Keqing. Players will end up needing quite a bit of it in order to fully ascend both of these characters, so knowing where to find it and how to harvest it is very important.
Keqing sits very high on the Genshin Impact character tier list, so those lucky enough to have gotten her will want to put the time and effort into ascending her. To do so, they'll need to gather Cor Lapis in great quantities.
Cor Lapis is a Liyue Local Specialty, so players will get it similarly to how they can get Dandelion seeds in Genshin Impact. Unfortunately, Cor Lapis is much more difficult to find comparatively, as players will need to venture into some high level areas. Cor Lapis can be found on any of the cliffs in Liyue, especially those with large orange crystals at the top, but by far the best place to farm them is at Mt. Hulao. This is a relatively high level area, so players wanting to get this item early on will need to be careful.
After making their way to Mt. Hulao, players should simply follow the path that leads up the side of the mountain. The material in question is a small orange outcrop, not the large orange rocks also frequently found on the mountain. They can be destroyed just like any other ore, but Cor Lapis is extremely resistant to normal attacks. As such, players should use heavy attacks from Claymore users for example, and if that isn't available, Amber's bombs will destroy the item in one hit, allowing the player to harvest it.
In total, players will need a sizeable amount of Cor Lapis to ascend Chongyun and Keqing, with each requiring a 168 pieces to fully ascend. Additionally, this material can be used to craft alchemy items that boost outgoing Geo damage or nullify incoming Geo damage, making them useful to have before facing a Geo element boss.
