Genshin Impact has used a rather straightforward "energy" system since its inception. Players can freely participate in dungeons and boss fights, however, if they hope to claim rewards from each one, they'll be forced to spend valuable Original Resin.

While Original Resin regenerates slowly over time, Genshin Impact players are also given the option of instantly recharging their supply by spending Primogems, the game's premium currency. Alternatively, players are sometimes rewarded with "Fragile Resin," which is a storable item that grants 60 Original Resin instantly upon consumption.

Condensed Resin is made using a large portion of Original Resin, and allows players to claim double rewards from a single run of a Domain. This newer material was introduced in an update after an official announcement from the game's developer, miHoYo, recognizing the game's issues with Original Resin. Aside from the update introducing a newer storage limit of 16o Original Resin, it also introduced the ability to craft Condensed Resin.

Once they have earned the diagram by reaching Liyue Reputation Level 3, players can craft Condensed Resin at any Alchemy station, though it does require a combination of Original Resin and Crystal Cores, which are on the rarer side of items. Travelers hoping to up their Reputations will need to complete Bounties and local regional quests every week. That said, although players can only store a maximum of three Condensed Resin at once, the system definitely allows for a bit of flexibility with gameplay. If a player can't log on and play on one day, they can at least quickly whip up three Condensed Resin and double up on rewards the next time they play.

Of course, these benefits can only stack once, since a player can't hold onto more than three Condensed Resin at the same time, but it's still a significant improvement. Crystal Cores can be found from the glowing Crystalflies that are found scattered across Teyvat - whether it's a Liyue Geo Crystalfly, or the Anemo and Cryo Crystalflies that inhabit Mondstadt and Dragonspine respectively, a player will receive one Crystal Core upon capturing the fairy-like creature. These can in turn be used to craft one Condensed Resin each, among other things.

Interestingly enough, Condensed Resin came into play after many players complained of inefficiency with the game's "Resin system." Though players have a seemingly large upper limit 0f 160 Original Resin, players are unable to stockpile Original Resin without Condensed Resin. In order to efficiently gain and use Original Resin, players needed to physically log on and play several times every day, otherwise, their Resin supply remains static.

Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for PS5 and Switch.
