Genshin Impact is a free-to-play action RPG with gacha mechanics centered around the game’s playable characters. Upcoming characters are often featured in promotional material as well as in-game quests to entice players to pull for them. That said, these new characters are often announced in small groups as only a few, particularly 5-Stars, can be released through Limited-time Wish Banners.

However, that doesn’t stop the community from finding out who the upcoming characters are through other means. Genshin Impact leakers have been known to release reliable information on new characters, and that includes those who’ve yet to feature in official content. So, here’s everything that’s been leaked so far on upcoming characters that have not appeared in any in-game content or promotional material yet. As usual, none of this information is confirmed, and things could change once they’re finally announced.

Leaked Upcoming Genshin Impact Characters

Candace/Kandake – Candace is speculated to be a 4-Star Hydro unit and a Polearm user. Leakers believe she’ll be released by Genshin Impact update 3.1. Other leaks reveal that her Elemental Skill creates a shield and has three charge levels.

Djajeet – Not a lot is known about Djajeet, but he’s believed to be a male character from Sumeru. His rating and overall kit have yet to be unveiled, but some leaks point to him being a Cryo Claymore user in Genshin Impact (though this could also apply to Mika).

Faruzan – Faruzan is rumored to be a 4-Star female character in Genshin Impact. According to leaks, she’s an Anemo Bow user. The most recent banner overview also schedules her for release at around Genshin Impact update 3.2 or 3.3.

Kavi/Kaveh – Kavi is a male Sumeru-based character, and most of his leaks concern his role in the lore. According to leaker BLANK, Kavi is a famous architect who constructed a place known as the “Palace of Alcazarzaray.” He’s also roommates with Alhaitham, one of the confirmed new characters of Genshin Impact. Leaker HxG_diluc also adds that Kavi was Alhaitham’s upperclassmen when they were both still students.

Layla – Layla is speculated to be a 4-Star Sword user. Like Ayaka from Genshin Impact, she wields Cryo. In the past, she’s been mistaken for Candace, but this has since been corrected as the two are separate characters.

Mika Mika is a little different from the rest of the characters on this list as he’s rumored to be a Mondstadt-based character. His design is said to be similar to Eula’s in terms of color scheme. And though not much of his kit is known, leakers predict he’ll be a Cryo character. It’s also said that he’ll show up as an NPC during Genshin Impact version 3.1 but won’t be playable yet. According to lore-related leaks, Mika is on the way back to Mondstadt from Grand Master Varka’s expedition. He’s also been described as a “shy cartographer.”

There are also a number of leaked characters that have little to no information on them apart from their name. These characters are as follows:

  • Ikhfa (female)
  • Nafs (female)
  • Soutine (female)

Of course, all this information is subject to change based on HoYoverse’s official announcements. But even then, it’s exciting to know that there’s a hefty lineup of new playable characters. Hopefully, more will be revealed about them once Genshin Impact update 3.0 drops. Until then, players will most likely be keeping an eye on the reliable leakers in the community.

Genshin Impact is now available on mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development with no confirmed release date.
