The hit action RPG Genshin Impact made an incredible splash in the gaming scene back in September 2020, and it's been thriving ever since. From its vibrant open-world exploration to its lush narrative to its colorful cast of characters, Genshin Impact has a lot to offer. However, players on PC may have something of an advantage when it comes to the game's more specific mechanics, as one fan recently discovered.

There are seven elements found in Genshin Impact: Pyro, Cryo, Electro, Dendro, Geo, Anemo, and Hydro. Each of these can invoke specific elemental reactions in combination with each other. One of the most irritating status effects to get by is Frozen, which is caused by inflicting Cryo on a target already inflicted with Hydro or vice versa.

Redditor Homiyo shared a video just under 30 seconds long showcasing a faster way for PC players to break free from the Frozen Elemental Reaction. Although Frozen will wear off on its own in a few seconds if left alone, it's well known that players can break out of the effect faster by repeatedly hitting the space bar. However, players who don't want to spam the space bar to escape can do so by hitting alt to bring up the mouse and clicking the space bar icon on the screen directly.

According to Homiyo's video, this technique allows players to break out of the Frozen status effect sooner than hitting the space bar would. To prove it, they showed off both techniques in the video, which demonstrates the Elemental Reaction using the Hydro character Sangonomiya Kokomi and a level 83 Cryo Abyss Mage. The clip appears to confirm that Homiyo's technique is more effective than just spamming the space bar the way the game expects the player to. However, the fact that it only works for PC players may be something of a stumbling block for console and mobile players.

It appears that other fans find Homiyo's technique interesting regardless of which platform they play on. One user noted that they use a similar tactic on console – they hold the controller still and then shake their whole hand up and down, which reportedly works better. Several other players complained that miHoYo hadn't bound the break-free button to the attack button on the mobile version of Genshin Impact. A PC player reportedly tried Homiyo's technique out for themselves and stated that it works like a charm.

Genshin Impact is available now for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
