The official Genshin Impact 2.5 livestream has revealed a lot of information about the upcoming content that will arrive in the foreseeable future. Apart from the characters, the addition of a new region is probably the most exciting thing players are looking forward to.

Previous Genshin Impact updates have introduced the famous islands of Inazuma and fans were expecting a small content drought for at least a couple of updates. However, it seems as though developer miHoYo has no plans to slow down, and players can expect a new region by the name Chasm to arrive alongside a brand-new Genshin Impact character named Kamisato Ayato.

Genshin Impact updates have a beta phase which usually includes most of the upcoming content. The beta usually begins once a new update drops meaning that the Genshin Impact 2.6 beta will arrive at the same time Genshin Impact Version 2.5 joins the live servers. Besides Yae Miko's gameplay, the live stream has revealed the new region by the name Chasm that will arrive in update 2.6. A recent leak on the popular Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has apparently revealed the map for the upcoming region.

Chasm will apparently have an interesting radial design with six new teleport points including a new Statue of The Seven. The arrival of this region has been rumored for many months since its name has always been displayed on the current map of Liyue. Even though miHoYo keeps adding new explorable terrain with each new update, multiple leaks have already revealed that another major nation by the name Sumeru could be added in future updates. The story that revolves around Chasm will apparently serve as an introduction to the nation of Sumeru.

It's also stated that Sumeru could be similar to the islands of Inazuma which were introduced in September 2021. Each nation in the game revolves around its own respective Archon and its divine ideals which are order, freedom, justice, etc. In the case of Sumeru, the God of Wisdom rules in the pursuit of all knowledge. Even though he is one of the rare leaders whose identity hasn't been revealed yet, it is well known that Sumeru's Archon is the youngest out of the seven Genshin Impact Archons. In addition, each nation favors a particular element that the Archon originates from. For Sumeru, it follows the lead of the Dendro Archon, whose powers create life from the surrounding desert. As such, players can expect a very flowery and plant-like environment when they enter the nation. These leaks should still be taken with a grain of salt considering that miHoYo is yet to officially confirm the arrival of a new major region.

Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5. A Switch version is currently in development.
