One of Genshin Impact's main draws that made the game such a success is the fact that the majority of the content is fairly easy to overcome. Leveling up properly is usually enough for players not to face any major obstacles. The only piece of content players can struggle to beat is the Spiral Abyss, especially the last two floors.

Every new Genshin Impact update brings loads of content, and it seems like miHoYo keeps making changes by giving more depth to the game's combat system. These changes include giving more HP to existing enemies as well as creating different fighting patterns for the new additions.

A recent post on Reddit revealed the feedback from a beta tester who claims that the Abyss floors 11 and 12 will require multiple characters with maxed-out constellations. Reaching constellation level 6 for a five-star character can take up over a thousand wishes which are hard to acquire for free-to-play Travelers.

There are multiple complaints in the comment section but the majority of them had one thing in common: the new Rifthound enemies are one of the worst types of enemies miHoYo has ever added to the game. Having a melee-heavy team composition makes it even harder and it should be noted that there are only two ranged weapon types in the game - Bow and Catalyst. The constant jumping around makes it almost impossible for players to land their DPS rotation.

Since the introduction of the Inazuma islands in Genshin impact Version 2.0, the Spyral Abyss has been increasingly stronger with each new update. The Abyss floors from update 1.0 to 1.6 had a fairly constant level of difficulty with some small exceptions. Increasing the difficulty ceiling does not seem to be the main problem as many players even prefer it, but making the current content much harder compared to the rest of the game seems unnatural.

Players who've just started their Genshin Impact journey are probably affected by these changes the most, considering that it was already hard enough to grind for late-game content, especially with numerous RNG obstacles like waiting for a perfect artifact roll. If this trend continues, new players will have the impossible task of catching up to the difficulty especially if they don't have strong Abyss characters like Venti. Another problem is that in the latter stages of the game, the progress will appear much smaller even if one put in the same grind each day.

Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, and a Nintendo Switch version in development.
