Yaoyao is a beloved Dendro character from Liyue region, who has been teased in very old Genshin Impact official artwork. In patch 3.4, players finally got the chance to use her in-game. As a Healer, Yaoyao is designed to provide both on-field and off-field healing with her White Jade Radishes. Her versatile healing capabilities make her a great fit for many team compositions.

Genshin Impact: Best Team Compositions For Baizhu
The best Baizhu team comp in Genshin Impact involves characters that can benefit from his top-tier Dendro application.

In Genshin Impact, it is always beneficial to have a healer with more than just healing abilities. Luckily, Yaoyao is a great choice for this as she can be used as a Dendro Enabler and Battery. Her talent stats are also decent, allowing players to create hybrid builds and use her as sub-DPS Dendro reaction support if desired.

Updated on February 22, 2024 by Elara Leclair: With the release of the Fontaine region starting from the version 4.0 update and the introduction of many new characters, including those with a variety of mechanics related to HP drain and gain, the utility of some characters like Yaoyao has diminished. This is because there are now characters that synergize better with certain Fontaine characters. However, considering that she is still an excellent healer, players can still find value in using her alongside some Fontaine characters such as Furina. This can be especially useful for players seeking F2P options such as Yaoyao without sacrificing much in terms of overall team power.

Yaoyao + Furina + Fischl + Lynette

Genshin Impact Team Composition Yaoyao Furina Fischl Lynette

Players seeking a reliable healer option for Furina may find Yaoyao to be quite beneficial, as she offers team-wide healing without needing to be on the field frequently. While Baizhu may be preferred by some players due to his ability to heal without requiring much field uptime, Yaoyao's access to healing through both her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst makes her well-suited to counter Furina's HP drain mechanic effectively. Although her Elemental Burst does require some field time, a well-built Yaoyao can quickly restore teammates' HP to full, making it ideal to use immediately after activating Furina's Elemental Burst to quickly accumulate stacks. This way, players will also not need to swap Furina to her healer form, and can benefit from utilizing her as a sub-DPS permanently.

In addition to Yaoyao, players can create a F2P composition by incorporating characters like Fischl, who can serve as both a battery and an Electro applier. Lynette can fulfill the role of DPS and team leader, benefiting from the different elements of each character for her own passive abilities. Alternatively, Sucrose can be a suitable option instead of Lynette, depending on player preference.

Team Role

  • Yaoyao: Healer, Dendro enabler, Battery
  • Furina: Hydro enabler, Sub-DPS, Buffer
  • Fischl: Electro enabler, Sub-DPS, Battery
  • Lynette: DPS, Driver

Yaoyao + Nilou + Yelan + Nahida

Genshin Impact Team Composition Yaoyao Nilou Yelan Nahida

With the introduction of the 3.4 patch, two new Dendro characters, Alhaitham and Yaoyao, have opened up more options for Nilou teams that focus on Bountiful Cores. While Nahida remains an excellent primary Dendro character option, Yaoyao's inclusion as the first playable Dendro healer in Genshin Impact allows players to have a more consistent and rapid Bountiful Core generation. If players do not have Nilou, this team may not be able to do as well as other reaction teams due to the difficulty of maximizing damage with Bloom teams when compared to Hyperbloom or Burgeon teams.

For those without Nahida, Alhaitham and Dendro Traveler are also viable alternatives. For players wanting to add another Hydro character to their team instead of Yelan, Ayato is a great choice. Bountiful Cores can deal an immense amount of damage to the active character, making Yaoyao a great healer to include in the team.

Team Role

  • Yaoyao: Healer, Dendro enabler, Battery
  • Nilou: DPS, Bloom Trigger
  • Yelan: Hydro enabler, Sub-DPS
  • Nahida: Sub-DPS, buffer, Dendro enabler

Yaoyao + Raiden Shogun + Xingqiu + Nahida

Genshin Impact Team Composition Yaoyao Raiden Xingqiu Nahida

Hyperbloom is a powerful elemental reaction. With its x3 DMG multiplier, Hyperbloom deals significantly more damage to the active character than Bloom when it explodes, meaning that having a healer is highly recommended. To be able to effectively activate Hyperbloom, Nahida, Yaoyao, and Xingqiu must first create the Dendro Cores, which Raiden Shogun then uses to trigger the reaction. It is important to be aware of the sequence in which each element must be activated, as there are many other reactions associated with Quicken that must be taken into account for the desired effect.

Genshin Impact: Best Nahida Build Guide
The best build for Nahida in Genshin Impact is quite complicated as players need to balance her stat out.

Players can change Xingqiu to Yelan if they wish to do so, and similarly, switch Nahida for any other Dendro character to create a similar Hyperbloom playstyle. Additionally, players can consider having two Hydro units instead of two Dendro units, as the Hydro resonance buff can be beneficial for those who want Yaoyao to scale better with the additional HP. Moreover, it is possible to swap Raiden Shogun for Beidou, Yae Miko, or Fischl; however, the right timing of the application order may become more complicated.

Team Role

  • Yaoyao: Healer, Dendro enabler
  • Raiden Shogun: Electro enabler, Battery, Sub-DPS
  • Xingqiu: Support, Hydro enabler
  • Nahida: Sub-DPS, buffer, Dendro enabler

Yaoyao + Ayato + Thoma + Venti

Genshin Impact Team Composition Yaoyao Ayato Thoma Venti

Yaoyao is an ideal candidate for the Burgeon team, as her healing abilities can help the active character recover from self-inflicted damage. In this case, Yaoyao and Ayato can generate the necessary Dendro cores, while Thoma triggers the Burgeon reaction. Venti can act as a 'grouper' to bring together the enemies and Dendro-cores for more consistent results. It is possible to swap out Ayato for any other Hydro enabler, while Thoma works very well for Burgeon reaction due to his slow Pyro application, unlike Xiangling, who can potentially interfere with the reactions, causing Vaporize with Ayato instead. For players who would prefer to have a main Pyro-DPS, a team consisting of Yaoyao, Hu Tao, Xingqiu and Zhongli can also work very well.

Overall, Yaoyao can fit many teams for the sole purpose of being a healer, but considering her good Dendro application capabilities and battery potential, she is a good choice for most Dendro reactions and is an excellent on-field and off-field Dendro enabler. She can potentially work well in a Burning reaction-focused team as well, however, due to the shortcomings of this reaction, it is not recommended for players to focus on it until a character such as Dehya could potentially fix the Burning reaction's issues.

Team Role

  • Yaoyao: Healer, Battery, Dendro enabler
  • Ayato: DPS, Hydro Enabler
  • Thoma: Burgeon trigger (Full EM build)
  • Venti: Support, Crowd Control

Yaoyao + Alhaitham + Yae Miko+ Zhongli

Genshin Impact Team Composition Yaoyao Alhaitham Yae Zhongli

If players are interested in a Spread team composition, Alhaitham and Yaoyao make an ideal combination. In this role, Yaoyao primarily acts as a Dendro enabler and battery, while her Elemental Burst can still provide supplemental healing to cover for Alhaitham's off-field time. Additionally, this team composition allows both Tenacity of the Millelith (on Zhongli) and Deepwood Memories (on Yaoyao) to be present on the team, while Alhaitham can equip Gilded Dreams, resulting in a substantial party-wide buff that will further increase Spread damage.

While not as flexible as Raiden Shogun, Yae Miko can still fit in these team compositions in Genshin Impact.

It is essential to take into account that, for optimal Spread effectiveness, Electro application should be applied before Dendro application over Quicken. Fortunately, Yae Miko has an excellent Electro application and sub-DPS potential off-field, however, she can be replaced by any other off-field Electro enabler for this team composition. It is also viable to swap Zhongli for Kazuha. As Alhaitham needs to be on-field more often, it is recommended that Yae Miko, Yaoyao, and Zhongli's skills are all activated before transitioning to Alhaitham.

Team Role

  • Yaoyao: Healer, Battery, Dendro enabler
  • Alhaitham: Main DPS, Dendro Enabler
  • Yae Miko: Sub-DPS, Electro enabler
  • Zhongli: Buffer, Support, Shielder, Debuffer

Yaoyao + Tighnari + Fischl + Sucrose

Genshin Impact Team Composition Yaoyao Tighnari Fischl Sucrose

For players who are searching for a more budget-friendly option, this Aggravate team is an ideal choice, as none of the characters in this composition are limited-banner characters. Similar to the Spread team, Deepwood Memories with either Gilded Dreams or Tenacity of the Millelith artifact sets on other party members can be utilized, as well as Viridescent Venerer on Sucrose to significantly increase the damage potential.

This time, to ensure that Aggravate is triggered and maximize Electro damage, Electro should be applied over Quicken. Sucrose can further increase the damage output with Electro Swirl. Both Tighnari and Yaoyao have controllable applications, so this should not be an issue. Alternatively, players may opt for other Electro characters such as Yae Miko or Raiden Shogun, and replace Sucrose with Kazuha. A team consisting of two Dendro and two Electro characters is also a viable option.

Team Role

  • Yaoyao: Healer, Battery, Dendro enabler
  • Tighnari: DPS, Dendro Enabler
  • Fischl: Sub-DPS, Electro enabler
  • Sucrose: Support
