Kirara joins the Genshin Impact roster as another Dendro vision sword user, making her the first Dendro character from the Inazuma region. This 4-star character, with her charming personality and unique appearance, brings various gameplay elements to the table. One notable aspect is her Elemental Skill, which transforms her into a different state when held, granting increased movement and climbing abilities, making her an excellent companion for exploration.
However, Kirara's abilities go beyond that. She can also generate powerful shields that scale with her HP and contribute to team compositions as a Dendro enabler and Burst-Support character in Genshin Impact. Although there are limited options for weapons that scale with HP, she can still effectively utilize others that provide additional Elemental Mastery or Energy Recharge to optimize her potential.
5 Favonius Sword
- Primary Stat: 454 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 61.3% Energy Recharge
- R5 Effect: CRIT hits have a 100% chance to generate a small amount of Elemental Particles, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character. Can only occur once every 6s.
The Favonius Sword is an excellent option for players who lack a battery character in their team and want to utilize Kirara for an additional function. Since this sword has been available since the game's launch, many players may already have multiple copies of it, making it more consistent in generating Energy particles. However, it's important to note that in order to effectively utilize the Favonius Sword, players will need to prioritize building Crit Rate on Kirara alongside her primary stat needs of HP and Elemental Mastery. Fortunately, the high modifiers of Kirara's Elemental Burst also benefit from the increased Crit Rate, enhancing her burst-support DPS.
4 Sapwood Blade
- Primary Stat: 565 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 30.6% Energy Recharge
- R5 Effect: After triggering Burning, Quicken, Aggravate, Spread, Bloom, Hyperbloom, or Burgeon, a Leaf of Consciousness will be created around the character for a maximum of 10s. When picked up, the Leaf will grant the character 120 Elemental Mastery for 12s. Only 1 Leaf can be generated this way every 20s. This effect can still be triggered if the character is not on the field. The Leaf of Consciousness' effect cannot stack.
The Sapwood Blade is a great option for those interested in maximizing Kirara's Elemental Burst uptime while providing additional Elemental Mastery support to the team. One of the benefits of this weapon is that it is entirely F2P and can be forged as part of the Sumeru Forgeable Weapons set, also making it easy to max refine. Alternatively, for players who have not progressed far enough in the story and exploration, the Iron Sting can be a viable option. While the Sapwood Blade performs better for Kirara's support-focused playstyle, the Elemental Mastery secondary stat of the Iron Sting can still benefit the team when Kirara enables Dendro elemental reactions.
3 Xiphos' Moonlight
- Primary Stat: 510 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 165 Elemental Mastery
- R5 Effect: The following effect will trigger every 10s: The equipping character will gain 0.072% Energy Recharge for each point of Elemental Mastery they possess for 12s, with nearby party members gaining 30% of this buff for the same duration. Multiple instances of this weapon can allow this buff to stack. This effect will still trigger even if the character is not on the field.
Xiphos' Moonlight is another excellent 4-star option for Kirara, although it may be more challenging for some players to obtain. If fortunate, compared to other 4-star swords, it not only provides Kirara with additional Elemental Mastery but also enhances her and the team members' energy recharge, allowing her to function as a versatile support character with a battery function. Unlike the Favonious Sword, it doesn't require Kirara to rely on an additional stat like Crit Rate, but instead focuses entirely on Elemental Mastery and HP, making her easier to build.
2 Freedom Sworn
- Primary Stat: 608 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 198 Elemental Mastery
- Effect: A part of the "Millennial Movement" that wanders amidst the winds. Increases DMG by 10%. When the character wielding this weapon triggers Elemental Reactions, they gain a Sigil of Rebellion. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s and can be triggered even if said character is not on the field. When you possess 2 Sigils of Rebellion, all of them will be consumed and all nearby party members will obtain "Millennial Movement: Song of Resistance" for 12s. "Millennial Movement: Song of Resistance" increases Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack DMG by 16% and increases ATK by 20%. Once this effect is triggered, you will not gain Sigils of Rebellion for 20s. Of the many effects of the "Millennial Movement," buffs of the same type will not stack.
The Freedom Sword is the optimal choice for support characters aiming to maximize the team's potential in terms of Elemental Reactions and the overall damage output of DPS characters. To activate its passive effect, Kirara must first trigger Elemental Reactions, which is not particularly challenging, especially considering that her Elemental Burst has the potential to apply Dendro in various instances. Although not every DPS character scales with ATK%, this can still be highly valuable for many team compositions, especially with the additional benefit of increased Normal, Charged, and Plunging damage.
1 Key Of Khaj-Nisut
- Primary Stat: 542 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 66.2% HP
- Effect: +20% HP. When an Elemental Skill hits opponents, gain the Grand Hymn effect for 20s. This effect increases the equipping character’s Elemental Mastery by 0.12% of their Max HP. Max 3 stacks. When this effect gains 3 stacks, or when the third stack’s duration is refreshed, the Elemental Mastery of all nearby party members will be increased by 0.2% of the equipping character’s max HP for 20s.
Nilou's signature weapon, Key of Khaj-Nisut, is undeniably the top choice for Kirara, given that it is currently the only sword that scales with HP% while also providing a substantial boost to her Elemental Mastery and that of her team members. Consequently, players who are fortunate enough to possess an extra copy of this weapon can maximize not only Kirara's shield strength but also her Elemental Mastery by focusing solely on HP. However, for players aiming to use Kirara and Nilou together in a team composition, it should be noted that this weapon will still be more effective when wielded by Nilou rather than Kirara.
