The Spiral Abyss is currently the hardest content in Genshin Impact. Travelers can enter it twice every month for a chance to amass 600 Primogems on every Abyss cycle. So, in every version, completing the Genshin Impact Spiral Abyss can grant up to 1,800 Primogems. This number is quite a lot as it increases the players' pity count by 11.
Unfortunately, getting a full star on the Spiral Abyss is not so easy. With the ever-changing enemies and Leyline Disorders, people may need to switch up their team composition to conquer the challenge. However, there are actually some team compositions that players can use in almost every cycle. Here are some examples of the best Spiral Abyss team compositions in Genshin Impact.
Updated on July 24th, 2023, by Nahda Nabiilah: Years after the initial release of Genshin Impact, the only endgame content available remains the one and only Spiral Abyss. Of course, to keep up with the player base that grows stronger over time, the challenge also gets harder, which can often be frustrating for players who aren't fully investing in a single character and instead grows multiple of them. Fortunately, despite the ever-changing difficulty and enemy roster, some of the best Spiral Abyss team compositions remain viable; here are some examples.
11 Hyperbloom Team
Hydro Enabler |
Dendro Enabler |
Hyperbloom Trigger |
---|---|---|
|
|
|
Hyperbloom team is both powerful and doable even for F2P players. Since all people need is to have as much Elemental Mastery as possible and Kuki is arguably the best Hyperbloom trigger of all, it's not required to rely on any 5-star character to pull this Spiral Abyss team comp off.
The budget version of this team would consist of Dendro MC, Xingqiu, Kuki Shinobu, and one other unit, but players can add 5-star units for more power. For instance, Nahida is an excellent Dendro enabler and buffer at the same time. The Cyno Hyperbloom team in Genshin Impact is one of the strongest out there, although this composition is far from F2P friendly.
10 Bloom Team
Hydro Main DPS |
Dendro Sub-DPS |
Support |
---|---|---|
|
|
|
Unlike the Hyperbloom team, the absolute best Bloom team in Genshin Impact is clearly one that includes Nilou in it. Since Nilou is involved, players are locked with only Hydro and Dendro characters in the team.
First, people can pick between Kokomi or Ayato for the main DPS. Afterward, it will dictate the Dendro Sub-DPS players would want in the team. If Kokomi is the main DPS, then it's fine to use two Dendro Sub-DPS, but if Ayato is the primary damage dealer, then Yaoyao should be included for healing.
Travelers can also opt for Nahida or Alhaitham as a Dendro main DPS. In this case, Yaoyao or Baizhu can be the healer, and a Hydro Sub-DPS like Xingqiu or Yelan can be included in the team.
9 Original National Team
Sub-DPS |
Support |
---|---|
Xiangling, Xingqiu, and Chongyun |
Bennett |
The original National Team in Genshin Impact consists of the holy trio; Xiangling, Xingqiu, and Bennett. For the fourth party member, this composition uses Chongyun. The main idea of this team is to spam Elemental Bursts of all its members.
The combination of Bennett's Burst and Xiangling's will deal great damage on its own. Now, add Chongyun's Burst for reverse Melt then Xingqiu's Rain Swords for Vaporize chaos. This is by far the best 4-Star team composition for the Genshin Impact Spiral Abyss.
8 Raiden’s National Team (Rational Team)
Sub-DPS |
Support |
---|---|
Xiangling, Xingqiu, and Raiden Shogun |
Bennett |
Still utilizing the holy trio, the Raiden's National Team (also known as the Rational Team) uses Raiden Shogun instead of Chongyun for the final slot. This composition generally has the same idea as the original National Team.
However, with the assistance of the Electro Archon, players will find their holy trio regaining their Elemental Burst with ease. Ever since the release of Raiden Shogun in Genshin Impact, this combination has quickly become a major meta in the community.
7 Sangonomiya Kokomi's Team
The most famous team composition for Sangonomiya Kokomi in Genshin Impact is either the Morgana team or the Sukokomon. But, players can also go out of the box and do a Superconduct team to maximize the Priestess' Ocean-Hued Clam damage.
Sukokomon Comp
Main DPS |
Sub-DPS |
Support |
---|---|---|
Sangonomiya Kokomi |
Fischl and Xiangling |
|
The idea for the Sukokomon team is to go crazy with Swirl. First, place Kokomi's Skill, then Fischl's, and lastly, Xiangling's Burst and Skill. Afterward, take Sucrose or Heizou out to make some Swirl catastrophe. The endless reaction chain will deal some unexpected damage.
Kokomi's Superconduct Comp
Main DPS |
Electro Sub-DPS |
Cryo Sub-DPS |
Flexible +1 |
---|---|---|---|
|
|
|
|
Kokomi's Superconduct team should have an Electro and a Cryo unit to trigger the reaction. Players can combine the many options, for example, Raiden Shogun + Rosaria. Then, for the final slot, players can use another support unit.
Kujou Sara is great if Raiden Shogun is in the team, Venti and Kazuha are excellent buffer and debuffer, while Xingqiu and Yelan are amazing Sub-DPS that'll trigger the Hydro Resonance with Genshin Impact Kokomi, increasing the team's HP by 25%.
6 Tighnari's Team
Dendro Sub-DPS |
Electro Sub-DPS |
Flexible +2 |
---|---|---|
|
|
|
Tighnari's best team composition in Genshin Impact focuses on the new Dendro Elemental reaction called Spread. This reaction occurs when Electro and Dendro meet, creating the Quicken debuff. Afterward, enemies hit by Electro or Dendro will trigger Aggravate or Spread reaction, respectively.
The best option for the Electro enabler would easily be someone like Fischl or Raiden Shogun, while the rest of the team are rather flexible. For example, players can do Venti and Kokomi for a Quicken + Hyperbloom + Electro-Charged comp, or Kazuha and Kujou Sara to fully enhance Tighnari and Raiden Shogun's damage.
5 Childe’s Team
When it comes to Childe, his most popular team compositions are the National Team, International, and Firework Comp.
Childe’s National Team
Main DPS |
Sub-DPS |

Childe |
Xiangling and Xingqiu |
Bennett |
Childe’s International Team
Main DPS |
Sub-DPS |
Support |
---|---|---|
Childe |
Xiangling and Kazuha |
Bennett |
Childe's National and International Teams in Genshin Impact revolve around the idea of dealing Vaporize damage. The sole difference is that the National version features the holy trio, while the International team includes characters that hail from different regions.
Childe came from Snezhnaya, Xiangling is a Liyue celebrity, Kazuha is an Inazuman fugitive, and Bennett is a Mondstadt adventurer.
Firework Comp
Main DPS |
Sub-DPS |
Flexible +1 |
---|---|---|
Childe |
Beidou and Fischl |
|
Meanwhile, Childe's Firework comp heavily relies on Electro-Charged damage. For this job, Beidou and Fischl will act as the Electro enabler. When the Harbinger is on cooldown, one of them will take the field as the DPS.
For the final slot in this team, players have several options. Sucrose will amplify Elemental reaction damage, Bennett is generally an amazing buffer, Xingqiu can apply Hydro when Childe is unavailable, while Yun Jin will amplify normal attack damage of Childe, Beidou, and Fischl.
4 Morgana Team
Main DPS |
Hydro Enabler |
Anemo Support |
Flexible +1 |
---|---|---|---|
|
|
|
|
The Morgana Team composition in Genshin Impact is also one of the most popular teams for the Spiral Abyss. It focuses on keeping the enemy frozen, allowing the DPS to safely fight while enjoying the +40% Critical Rate bonus from Blizzard Strayer Artifacts. There are many versions of this composition, but the original one involves Ganyu, Venti, Mona, and Diona.
3 Hu Tao’s Team
Main DPS |
Sub-DPS |
Support |
Flexible +1 |
---|---|---|---|
|
|
|
|
When it comes to Hu Tao, she's practically inseparable from Xingqiu. The combination of the two characters allows Hu Tao to endlessly deal Vaporize reactions. Xingqiu also provides minor protection and healing for the Pyro DPS. To further protect the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor Director, players can utilize Zhongli's unbreakable shield. The Geo Archon will also reduce the enemies' resistance, amplifying the whole team's damage output.
For the last slot, Albedo can be an amazing Sub-DPS while also triggering the Geo Resonance with Zhongli. If Albedo is unavailable, Chongyun is an acceptable alternative. The Exorcist will boost Hu Tao's attack speed and reduce her Elemental Skill cooldown. Players needn't worry about Chongyun's Cryo infusion either, as Hu Tao's Pyro infusion will not be overridden.
Lastly, of course, Yelan can be combined along with Xingqiu for some Hydro and Vaporize chaos. The Yelan + Xingqiu pairing will also trigger the Hydro Resonance, which increases the entire party's HP by 25%. Considering Hu Tao, Yelan, and Zhongli all scale with HP, this Resonance will make the team even stronger than it already is.
2 Arataki Itto Team
Main DPS |
Support |
Third Geo |
Flexible +1 |
---|---|---|---|
|
|
|
|
A Mono Geo Team composition in Genshin Impact can actually be done even without Arataki Itto, where for the Main DPS, players can use Ningguang or C6 Noelle. However, a Geo team is especially popular thanks to the Oni. With Arataki Itto as the primary damage dealer, players would want Zhongli and Gorou as his support. Zhongli provides protection and resistance reduction, while Gorou will boost Itto's DEF.
However, although Zhongli is amazing, it's more important that players have someone that can act as a Genshin Impact Battery; players can use Geo Traveler or Ningguang for this. Additionally, Raiden Shogun or Electro Traveler can also be an excellent Battery while also applying Electro for Crystallized to occur.
1 Physical DPS
Main DPS |
Cryo Support |
Electro Enabler |
---|---|---|
|
|
|
With the meta revolving around Elemental damage and reactions, Physical Team is often overlooked. However, for those who prefer the white numbers, then Eula or Razor are their best bets. For this team to shine, it is crucial to maintain the Superconduct debuff, so if Eula is the Main DPS, then Electro enablers like Raiden Shogun, Yae Miko, or Fischl will be necessary. On the other hand, if the primary damage dealer is Razor, then players will need a Cryo unit. For example, Diona, Ganyu, Rosaria, or Kaeya.
Here's what each team composition could look like:
- Eula Main DPS: Raiden Shogun + Diona or Zhongli + Yun Jin or Kujou Sara
- Razor Main DPS: Cryo enabler + Yun Jin + Kujou Sara or Zhongli
Genshin Impact is available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
