Though it has been a long time since Genshin Impact's release in 2020, it is still constantly expanding. Teyvat continues to expand with each passing week, as the story now looks to expand into its third country. Likewise, organizations (Knights of Favonius) continue to become more and more complex as characters are released.
One of these new characters, Rosaria, very much does this as the first polearm-user to be released outside of Liyue. As a sister in the Mondstadt Church, she brings a more conflicted personality to the organization that hasn't been seen in their other nuns. Nonetheless, many players find it difficult to build the new Cryo-polearm.
Updated on December 27, 2022, by Nahda Nabiilah: The release of Dragonspine’s snowy mountain feels like forever ago now that players are enjoying the harsh desert of Sumeru. Fans now also have access to the Dendro Element in Genshin Impact, which was missing for around two years of gameplay. Although Cryo is rather irrelevant with Dendro as the two don’t react, the ice Element remains one of the strongest Elements, and Rosaria is a great support that wields a Cryo Vision.
Rosaria Character Overview
Rosaria is a Cryo-polearm user with a strong focus on attack. With talents naturally filled with Cryo energy, Rosaria gives players a lot of potential as both a sub-DPS and support.
As for her Elemental Skill, Rosaria utilizes teleportation to get behind similarly-sized opponents (much like Kaeya). On the other hand, her Elemental Burst brings heavy offensive power; creating a Cryo zone of effect after launching a massive ice lance.

Rosaria Best Build - Best Weapon
Here’s a quick overview of each Rosaria's best weapons in her respective roles.
Sub-DPS Rosaria In Freeze Team
Since players should abuse the 40% Crit Rate bonus from 4pc Blizzard Strayer, 15% bonus from Cryo Resonance, and 12% buff from Rosaria’s first Ascension Passive (A1), all that’s left for Rosaria is stacking Crit DMG (including the 5% base stat, all the bonuses stack to 72% Crit Rate).
This is why weapons that provide Crit DMG like Staff of Homa and Blackcliff Pole or an ATK addition like Vortex Vanquisher are all excellent options.
However, if players aren’t playing with Blizzard Strayer, then Crit Rate will still be necessary, so weapons like Primordial Jade Spear, Deathmatch, and The Catch are all viable.
Sub-DPS Rosaria In Melt Team
For the Melt team, players will be benefiting from Elemental Mastery, so Staff of the Scarlet Sands triumph in being the best option. Dragon’s Bane also performs greatly since the enemy will be affected with Pyro.
Support Rosaria
For support Rosaria, players will either use Favonius Lance for Battery Rosaria, or stack Critical Rate to max her A4.
After casting Elemental Burst, Rosaria’s A4 can give Crit Rate to all party members (except herself) by 15% of her max Crit Rate (up to 15%). So if the nun has 100% Crit Rate, after she casts her ultimate, her teammates will all gain 15% Crit Rate.
Because of this, weapons that grant Critical Rate sub-stat are all excellent for this job. Staff of the Scarlet Sands’ massive Crit Rate is the best option, and Deathmatch comes next.
Rosaria Best Build - Best Artifacts
As for Artifacts, here’s what players need to know for Rosaria’s various roles.
Sub-DPS Rosaria In Freeze Team
The best option for a perma-freeze team is clearly 4pc Blizzard Strayer. Noblesse Oblige is viable too, but it’s far less recommended.
Sub-DPS Rosaria In Melt Team
Rosaria has a unique mechanic where both her Elemental Skill and Burst don’t have internal cooldown, which means she can deal Melt DMG on each of her hits. Because of this, players can use Elemental Mastery Timepiece instead of ATK.
She can also snapshot buffs on her Elemental Burst, granting her the potential of being a powerful sub-DPS.
Support Rosaria
Since Rosaria should stack as much Crit Rate as possible, she should be using Crit Rate Circlet; this stat will also help with Favonius Lance’s passive. As for the Timepiece, Travelers can use ATK if she doesn’t have an Energy issue, but if she does, then Energy Recharge is the way to go.
For the Artifact set, generally, players would use 4pc Noblesse Oblige. However, if the team is more Elemental Reaction-centric, then 4pc Instructor can be great too. Just note that Instructor is a 4-star Artifact, which will greatly drop Rosaria’s personal DPS.
Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
