Eula is arguably the best Physical DPS in Genshin Impact. This 5-star Claymore user has a rather unique system with her Elemental Burst. Currently, this Spindrift Knight is one of the few characters that can easily deal hundred thousands of Physical DMG in Genshin Impact.
Eula is the Captain of the Knights of Favonius' Reconnaissance Company. She is a member of the Lawrence clan, one of the three big families in Mondstadt. The other two are Ragnvindr and Gunnhildr. However, unlike Diluc and Jean's clan, Eula's has a dark story with Mondstadt. Because of this, Eula is often looked down upon by the citizens of Mondstadt. This leads Eula to often talk about vengeance, despite not meaning it at all.
Updated on July 14, 2023, by Nahda Nabiilah: It’s hard to believe Eula can fit in any role other than a main DPS in Genshin Impact. But with new updates and changes, any character will always have new additions to their build that can improve their performance. As a Physical DPS, Eula used to suffer from the lack of units that can help her play that role effectively. Now, there are many new characters and weapons to help players improve Eula’s build and her team's synergy.
Eula's Talent Overview
Eula is a Physical DPS that can deal massive damage with her Elemental Burst. Following Xinyan, her Burst deals Physical DMG instead of Cryo DMG like most characters. However, unlike Xinyan's simple Elemental Burst, Eula has a system of her own. After casting her ultimate, players have to hit enemies with Eula's Normal attacks and Skills to gain "Lightfall Sword" stacks. The more stacks players have, the higher damage Eula will deal.
Eula also has a rather unique Elemental Skill. It has "Hold" and "Press" versions. The Press Skill will give Eula a "Grimheart" stack, up to two stacks. Possession of this stack will increase Eula's defense and resistance to interruption.
As for her Hold Skill, Eula will consume the Grimheart stacks. The consumption of these stacks will reduce the enemy's Physical and Cryo resistance. This Grimheart stack can be seen through the illumination of her cape. The brighter it is, the more Grimheart stack the player currently owns.
Best Artifacts for Eula
For artifact main stats, Eula is best used with ATK/Physical DMG Bonus/Crit. ATK% on Timepiece, Physical DMG Bonus on Goblet, and Crit Rate or Crit DMG on Circlet. Her sub-stats should focus mostly on Crit and ATK, but Energy Recharge shouldn't be neglected.
4-Pale Flame
This artifact set is undoubtedly the Best-in-Slot for Eula. Eula's skill has a short cooldown (4 seconds), so it's trivial to maintain the 4-set effect of Pale Flame. If players spared extra Primogems to obtain Eula's second constellation, the 4-Pale Flame effect will be even easier to maintain. With C2, players don't have to hesitate to use Eula's Hold Skill, as the cooldown is reduced from 10 seconds to 4 seconds.
2-Bloodstained Chivalry + 2-Pale Flame
The combination of these two is the second-best set for Eula. With these sets, players can have +50% Physical DMG without any condition. So unlike with 4-Pale Flame, players won't have to worry about maintaining stacks. Alternatively, using 2-Physical DMG +25% + 2-ATK +18% set is also a viable option.
4-Gladiator's Finale
Eula is a claymore character that can operate as a Physical DPS. 4-Gladiator will enhance Eula's Normal attacks by 35%. This increase should not be underestimated if Eula is the main DPS in the team. However, players should keep in mind that 4-Gladiator will not contribute to Eula's Burst DMG except from the +18% ATK.
Best Weapons for Eula
Song of the Broken Pines
Song of Broken Pines is Eula’s BiS weapon, so it makes sense to be her best Claymore in Genshin Impact. It has an insanely high Base ATK alongside a decent passive that allows Eula to increase her team’s ATK SPD and ATK% by 12% and 20% respectively. ATK SPD is always good for Eula since she depends on her Normal attacks to stack up her Lightfall Sword DMG.
The Unforged
The Unforged's passive is highly reliant on shields, so 100% shield uptime is a necessity. With Zhongli, The Unforged is a superior choice to any other Claymore. With it, Eula can gain up to 89.6% ATK off her Base ATK, which is the highest Base ATK in Genshin Impact after Xiao. Just note that the viability of this Claymore goes down if there are other ATK buffers in the team.
Wolf's Gravestone
Wolf's Gravestone is a great weapon for any character that heavily relies on ATK%, and Eula is just that. Not only that but with Wolf's Gravestone, Eula can buff her entire team’s ATK%, which is very similar to how would she perform with Song of Broken Pines in her hands.
Redhorn Stonethresher
Since Eula depends on her Normal attacks to increase her Lightfall Sword DMG, Redhorn’s passive can be helpful in one way or another. However, that’s not why Redhorn Stonethresher is a great weapon for Eula. Just like other DPS in Genshin Impact she can greatly benefit from the Crit DMG sub-stat of this weapon.
Skyward Pride
The Spindrift Knight has terrible Energy Regeneration and her burst requires 80 energy, which means Eula needs to have a battery on her team. Skyward Pride can solve that problem with a small cost of Eula's DPS.
Serpent Spine
Serpent Spine's passive is one of the best if players are good at avoiding damage or have a shielder. The stacks will not disappear if Eula takes damage while protected by a shield. At full stacks, it gives +30% DMG for everything. This allows Serpent Spine to outperform Skyward Pride.
Blackcliff Slasher
Usually, Blackcliff Slasher performs poorly without its stacks. But for Eula, it's comparable to Prototype and Snow-Tombed even on zero stacks. So if players have Starglitter to spare, Blackcliff Slasher is the F2P go-to.
Snow-Tombed Starsilver and Prototype Archaic
These weapons are the most F2P-friendly weapons for Eula. They are quite similar in passives but aren't so similar in sub-stats. Prototype has ATK% as a sub while Snow-Tombed has Physical. Snow-Tombed is usually mediocre because the best passive requires a Cryo application. However, with Eula, she can easily proc its full potential.
Best Teammates for Eula
Diona
One of the benefits of Cryo characters is how easily they can obtain Crit Rate. Simply matching two Cryo into one team adds a 15% Crit Rate on enemies affected by Cryo. Not only an easy Cryo resonance in Genshin Impact, but Diona also provides cleansing, shielding, and healing to her team. On top of that, the Kätzlein is also a great battery for Eula. If players own Favonius or Sacrificial Bow, Diona can greatly help Eula's Energy Regeneration.
Fischl or Lisa
As a Cryo unit, Eula is one-half of the Superconduct reaction. It reduces the enemy's Physical RES by 40% for 12 seconds, a perfect reaction for Physical characters. The other half of it is Electro and Fischl or Lisa are decent for the job. Fischl's Oz can easily provide constant Electro DMG, while Lisa can apply Electro with her Ultimate. Fischl is a great option for the constant hits that Oz does, but Lisa has a unique DEF reduction Skill that can help Eula deals higher personal DPS.
Bennett or Zhongli
Investing in ATK is great for Eula. Whether it's from her Normal attacks or her Burst, she scales massively with her Base ATK. With Bennett's ATK buff, healing, and cleansing, Eula can deal more damage while being protected on the field.
As for Zhongli, he has an amazing shield, Burst, and crowd control, and he also reduces enemies' resistance. Match him with anyone and he'll perfectly fit. Bennett and Zhongli are two of the best supports in Genshin Impact. They can fit into any team and provide top-tier support. Eula is no exception.
Ganyu or Rosaria
Both Cryo units can make Cryo Resonance with Eula. While Ganyu is best used as a main DPS, she can also be a great support. Ganyu's Elemental Burst deals massive damage and can have a 100% uptime. It will make enemies affected by Cryo in a decent AOE.
Similar to Diona, Rosaria can also be a great battery for Eula. Rosaria's skill actually generates a decent amount of energy, better than Diona and Ganyu. Not only that, but players can also use Favonius Lance on Rosaria for more generated Energy through the weapon's passive. Other Cryo characters like Kaeya can also take the role of a battery, but they don't have the supportive values Rosaria offers, like Crit Rate buff or Physical RES debuff.
Kuki Shinobu
Kuki allows players to be extra offensive with Eula because of the continuous off-field healing she provides. Kuki is also a great off-field Electro enabler, which can help Eula trigger more Superconduct.
Raiden Shogun
Without a doubt, Raiden is one of the best 5-stars in Genshin Impact. But, for Eula, there are too many things that Raiden can do. She can enhance Eula’s Elemental Burst, effectively apply Electro, and act as an amazing Battery for the team.
Mika
Mika’s kit revolves around improving the performance of any unit that relies on Physical DMG in his team. First, Mika can notably improve Eula’s ATK SPD, which is essential for her Burst DMG. He can also increase her Physical DMG while shredding enemies’ resistance to it. And finally, when players unlock his C6, Mika will further increase Eula’s Physical Crit DMG by a whopping 60%.
Yun Jin
Yun Jin is a character that has a unique buff of maximizing the damage of her team’s Normal attacks. While that’s not Eula’s main focus, Normal attacks are still an ability she uses progressively to enhance her Burst, which makes Yun Jin’s buff important. On her C2 and C6, Yun Jin can further increase Eula’s Normal attack damage and ATK SPD.
