Fortunately, content creator Mtashed has recently posted a video that breaks down how Genshin Impact's artifacts operate and shows how players can get the most out of their loot drops. Considering that each character can carry five different artifacts at a time, the right setup can have a huge impact on the stats of each party member, even deep into the endgame.
According to the video, the best method for getting the best artifacts in Genshin Impact is by focusing on both the way these items upgrade and the extra stat bonuses that roll with them. Essentially, as players level up artifacts, the items will gain up to four extra stat bonuses, although some can start with these bonuses based on their star rating. The key is to figure out which bonuses best suit whatever build a player may be shooting for and upgrading artifacts in order to unlock the first couple of stats to check if that item might be worth using more resources on.
This method still leaves plenty up to chance, with players having to roll for the opportunity to get the stat bonuses they want from any specific artifact for their preferred builds. According to Mtashed, it's still a good idea to go for Genshin Impact's strongest weapons at lower Adventurer Ranks, and this method is best used late-game, when players can farm powerful artifacts in domains. At the very least, some of the tips the video focuses on, such as avoiding defense bonuses, can go a long way for players still getting the hang of crafting new builds for new characters.
All of these different ways to build the perfect party in Genshin Impact is part of what makes the game so addictively thrilling to throw hours and hours into. So, any tips for getting the most out of these smaller aspects of the game's features are more than welcome if it can make diving into domains and fighting bosses more accessible. Of course, the elements of RNG are still very much present, even with the best tips at a player's disposal, meaning luck is still going to be a major factor in getting the best possible gear.
