Genshin Impact is a free-to-play, open-world, action RPG, gacha game released in September 2020 on PC, PS4, Android, and iOS. The game takes place in the curious world of Teyvat, home to seven different major nations that are all tied to a specific element. One of these seven is Mondstadt, represented by the element of Anemo and home to the Four Winds.

Andrius, referred to as the Lupus Boreas, is one of the Four Winds of Mondstadt. He is a great, big, beautiful wolf who is dedicated to protecting the nation and all its people after promising such to Barbatos, the Anemo Archon. Andrius is the "Dominator of Wolves," the "Wolf-King of the North," and the "King of the North Wind."

8 Andrius According To The Adventurer Handbook

Genshin Impact Razor and Andrius

"A noble soul that watches over Wolvendom. When the safety of the wolves is threatened, it will take the form of a wolf and show its fangs and claws. It is said that its powers were given to it by an ancient god."

This is how Andrius is defined in the Adventurer Handbook in the game. The Adventurer Handbook has several tabs in it: Experience, Commissions, Domains, and Bosses. He is a boss, both literally and figuratively. After completing the first chapter of Razor's Story Quest, "The Meaning of Lupical," the player can actually fight Andrius (as a boss) in Wolvendom via the Wolf of the North Challenge.

7 Andrius According To The Archive

Genshin Impact Andrius Full Body

"The noblest and greatest of souls, who watches over the lupical of Wolvendom. When the wolfpack is imperiled, it will emerge in the form of a wolf and show forth its fangs and claws. The wolves of Wolvendom are frightening phantoms to the people of Mondstadt: A blurred shape flashing through the forest, a chilling howl in the indeterminate distance, the creeping sense of eyes constantly nailed to their backs... Humans rarely have the opportunity to lock their eyes with a wolf, for this is the law Lupus Boreas laid down for its race."

This is how Andrius is defined in the Archive in the game. The Archive has pages for Equipment, Tutorials, Geography, Travel Log, Books, Materials, and Living Beings. He is a living being. Wolvendom is located in Mondstadt; it is where Andrius and his wolf pack live. He is as noble as they say, loyal to protecting the lupical from anything and anyone, even the Traveler.

6 Andrius Is Not Pleased With Humans (At All)

Genshin Impact Andrius Eyes

While Andrius is indeed noble, the player finds out in the story of Genshin Impact that he finds humans and their society as a whole disappointing. This is why Andrius only takes in infants who were abandoned by their parents or caretakers because they are still pure.

Additionally, he hates Decarabian, the former Anemo Archon, and declared war against him in the past. Despite his apparent good intentions, Decarabian was viewed by his people as a tyrant and killed by rebels. That being said, Andrius does not hate Barbatos, the current Anemo Archon, who took over Mondstadt afterward. In fact, this is quite evident since he agreed to become one of Barbatos' Four Winds of Mondstadt.

5 Andrius Took In Razor And Raised Him As His Own

Genshin Impact Andrius, Razor, Amber, The Traveler

Razor is a playable character in Genshin Impact who controls the element of Electro and uses a Claymore as his weapon of choice.

As an infant, he was abandoned. But Andrius took him in and raised him alongside his wolf pack in Wolvendom. When he gets older, he runs into Varka (Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius) who helps him integrate back into human society.

The player finds out all of this through the story in the game. Eventually, a group of wolves (not Andrius') attacks a team of hunters in Springvale; they wind up blaming Andrius as well as Razor. This escalates, causing the player (the Traveler) and Razor to confront Andrius. In the end, he tells Razor to stop getting involved in wolf affairs because he is a human, not a real wolf.

4 Andrius Turned Down Becoming The Anemo Archon

Genshin Impact Statue of the Seven

While it is unknown who exactly, Andrius was given his godly powers by an ancient archon. He can control not only the element of Cryo but Anemo as well.

Following the killing of Decarabian, Barbatos became the current Anemo Archon. However, Andrius was just as qualified to take the position and had the opportunity to. He passed because Andrius felt he was not the right fit since, you know, Andrius pretty much despises humanity and all.

3 Andrius Died (The Physical Part Of Him At Least)

Genshin Impact Razor Wolf

Although Andrius does not care for human society, he must have a good heart (and a good soul). Andrius basically let himself die after coming to terms with the fact that the blizzards he was uncontrollably unleashing on the world were killing many people.

Only his physical self died, though. Andrius' spirit and power live on, although his former awesome glory is gone forever. He used to have a place of worship at the Temple of the Wolf located near the Thousand Winds Temple, but it is now abandoned.

Genshin Impact Andrius Blue

Andrius is known as the King of the North Wind as well as the Lupus Boreas.

In Greek mythology, Boreas is known as the god of the north wind. He is the purple-winged god of the north wind and one of the four seasonal Anemoi, which are the Wind Gods. On top of that, Boreas was the god of winter, infamous for coming down from the cold mountains and chilling the air with his icy breath.
