A new Genshin Impact chart shows the revenue numbers for the current Limited Character Banner that includes the Anemo user Xiao and the new Dendro character Alhaitham. The banner also includes a new four-star character named Yaoyao.
Both Alhaitham and Xiao are considered strong DPS characters in Genshin Impact with very specific playstyles. Players who want to add either of them to their playable roster have a couple of days to do so as their banner is scheduled to expire on January 7. Developer HoYoverse already confirmed that Hu Tao and Yelan will be featured in the second part of the update.
A Reddit user named TimocaSamJa has shared an interesting chart that shows the first-week sales for the current Alhaitham and Xiao double banner. Many players seem surprised that even though the banner features two new characters, it barely managed to squeeze into the top 20 on the list. The main reason behind this is probably the fact that the previous update, 3.3, was stacked with strong limited five-star characters such as Raiden Shogun and Wanderer. The Raiden and Ayato double banner even managed to break Genshin Impact's overall revenue record, overtaking Nahida and Yoimiya who were the previous record holders.
Another reason why Alhaitham's release seems underwhelming could be that many players consider him to be a Dendro version of Keqing. Even though they have completely different playstyles, these two characters have very similar animations, especially with their Elemental Bursts. However, most tier lists still put Alhaitham in the S-tier category as he is probably the strongest Dendro DPS in Genshin Impact at the moment.
Some commenters said that they skipped pulling for Alhaitham in order to save up some Primogems for the upcoming Hu Tao and Yelan double banner. Hu Tao is one of the best DPS characters in the game who has not appeared on a Limited Character Banner since update 2.2 which dates back to November 2021. The Hydro user Yelan is also very popular in the community and this will be her first re-run.
A couple of fans have pointed out that the second weapon banner for Genshin Impact update 3.4 is worth skipping Alhaitham and Xiao. The banner will include the Staff of Homa polearm which is one of the best items in the game, and it serves as Hu Tao's signature weapon.
Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
