Genshin Impact Special Program

The Special Program has revealed a new part of Sumeru that will become explorable in the upcoming update. Genshin Impact version 3.1 will finally introduce the Teyvat's first desert which is apparently even larger than the enormous rainforest that arrived in 3.0. According to credible rumors, once all of its parts are unlocked, Sumeru will be the largest major region in the game, overtaking Liyue, the home of the Geo Archon. The event also revealed more information about three new characters that will join the playable roster: Cyno, Candace, and Nilou.

Cyno and Nilou are confirmed to be five-star characters while Candace will have a lower four-star rarity. Out of the three characters, Cyno is probably the most popular one considering that he was already teased in one of Genshin Impact's previous videos. He is confirmed to be a new Electro polearm user who will serve as the main damage dealer in most Genshin Impact parties. Fans claim that his playstyle seems like a mix of the four-star Electro DPS named Razor and the popular Anemo Yaksha known as Xiao.

Nilou will apparently be a new sub-DPS or support character whose playstyle revolves around a new elemental reaction named Bloom. This reaction causes Dendro Cores to drop on the floor which will explode after a short period of time. One of Nilou's passive talents will change the effect of these Dendro Cores, increasing the damage radius and shortening their time to explode.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development.
