The upcoming Genshin Impact update has been delayed for some time now, but HoYoverse has finally announced the final release date for Version 2.7.

Genshin Impact 2.7 will be coming on May 31. Considering it was supposed to be available around May 10, the version is about three weeks behind schedule. Meanwhile, version 2.8 will come six weeks later, around July 13. This invalidated the rumors that version 2.7 will only be three weeks long. With the release of a new update, HoYoverse certainly will give the community a teaser of what to expect in the new patch. For this, the developer also announced the date for the Genshin Impact 2.7 livestream.

Players can watch the Genshin Impact 2.7 livestream on May 20 at 8 am (UTC-4) on the official Twitch channel. It will then be available on YouTube four hours after. As usual, people can expect some Primogem codes from it. These promo codes usually only last for 24 hours, so make sure not to miss out on them.

As always, the maintenance will start at 6 am (UTC+8), and will last for around five hours. Players can also expect a 300 Primogems compensation for the update, along with an extra 300 for some bug fixes. The end of version 2.6 also means that Kamisato Ayaka's banner along with the Genshin Impact Mistsplitter Reforged and The Unforged weapon banner will finally pass. So Travelers who still wish to get them have less than two weeks to try their luck.

The good news adds up with the fact that the Serenitea Pot maintenance will end after the Genshin Impact 2.7 update. Players who have been dying to switch out their max-friendship character can finally do so on May 31. Another thing worth noting is that the update falls on Tuesday. Every Wednesday, Genshin Impact players are supposed to get 400 Primogems compensation for the delay. It's uncertain if Travelers will still get Primogems in their mail, but HoYoverse did promise an adjustment for the amount of Primogems if the 2.7 update came before Wednesday.

The announcement for Yelan and Kuki Shinobu in Genshin Impact felt like forever-ago, but fans can finally prepare for the two new characters. Yelan is a Hydro user that hailed from Liyue while Kuki is an Electro unit that came from Inazuma. Both characters have an intriguing background, making the next update more exciting as people can finally explore their backstory. So far, it is known that Kuki Shinobu was an ex-Shrine Maiden who is now a member of the Arataki Gang with Genshin Impact Arataki Itto, while Yelan is a mysterious character who claimed to work for Liyue's Ministry of Civil Affairs.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
