Genshin Impact has a very frequent six-week update schedule which keeps the game's content fresh. Each new update brings new events, characters, and weapons which are obtainable for a limited time.

With the update 2.6 just around a corner Hoyoverse released a new livestream event about the upcoming content. The Genshin Impact 2.6 livestream event has officially confirmed a brand-new character as well as two banner re-runs.

The new livestream event has officially revealed the two characters that will arrive in the upcoming update. The first banner will include two five-star characters - Kamisato Ayato and the Anemo Archon Venti. The second banner cycle will include only one character, Ayato's sister, Ayaka. Genshin Impact Version 2.6 is officially scheduled to be released on March 30. Some players were speculating that another character named Albedo could arrive in this update since he was featured on the official art that was previously leaked, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

Multiple leaks have created a lot of hype about Kamisato Ayato. Genshin Impact fans went wild when his voice was teased in the character teaser for Arataki Itto. Ayato is confirmed to be a Hydro sword user and according to multiple rumors, he will be a very offense-minded character. Considering that his ascension stat is Crit rate, he will most likely be a new DPS character. Ayato's elemental burst creates an area of damage and all allies standing within the field will receive an attack speed buff which means that he could also have sub-DPS capabilities.

Fans are expecting Ayato and Ayaka to have good synergy considering they are siblings. Their elements, Hydro and Cryo, can trigger Frozen which is one of the strongest elemental reactions in the game. Ayaka is one of the strongest DPS characters in the Genshin Impact right now, and she has the second-highest base damage in the game. She also has a unique sprinting animations which allows players to constantly dodge incoming attacks

Despite being paired with the new character Ayato on the same banner cycle, a lot of players will still spend their Primogems on Venti's banner. Since his release back in 2020, Venti has become a must-have character and probably one of the strongest supports in the Genshin Impact. His ability to group enemies and combine different elemental reactions can't be matched by any other character at the moment.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development with no confirmed release date.
