After months of speculation Genshin Impact developer miHoYo has officially confirmed the arrival of a new playable character. Yae Miko has been a part of the game for a very long time, and it seems like she will officially join the playable roster.

Genshin Impact's story has revealed that Yae Miko oversees the Grand Narukami Shrine and is the owner of the Yae Publishing House. Multiple leaks have been hinting that she will be a very offensive character.

Over the past couple of patches, miHoYo has introduced an interesting pattern by revealing new characters before the beta even arrives, most likely because the characters would be leaked on day one of the betas anyway. A recent post on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has apparently revealed the long-awaited information about Yae Miko's kit. The Reddit thread gives more information about her secondary stat, constellations, as well as the description for her Elemental Skill and Burst.

The fact that her ascension stat is Crit rate means that she will most likely be a DPS character in the game which is unusual for a Catalyst user. She is also confirmed to be a new Electro Vision holder. Her elemental skill will allow her to move rapidly, leaving behind "Lethal Sakura" which periodically deals damage to one nearby enemy. This means that she could also have strong sub-DPS capabilities.

Yae's elemental burst will cause lightning and thunder dealing AoE electro damage. When the burst is used, she releases all Lethal Sakura nearby which will morph into Tenko Thunderstrike dealing AoE electro damage. She has also been rumored to be one of the strongest DPS characters in the game, on par with Hu Tao, Xiao, and Ganyu.

When it comes to her boss materials, the leak confirms that she will be using talent ascensions dropped by La Signora. Even though she was rumored to be released alongside another popular character, the long-awaited Kamisato Ayato, it seems like miHoYo decided to delay his arrival once again. His fans have been excited over the past couple of days as the official Arataki Itto teaser video included a couple of Ayato's voice lines. This is usually the way miHoYo announces that a new character will become playable in the foreseeable future.

Genshin Impact is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, and a Nintendo Switch version in development.
