Every Genshin Impact update consists of two different banners that can be obtainable for a limited time. The official livestream for Genshin Impact 2.5 has officially confirmed the arrival of the long-awaited Electro Catalyst, Yae Miko.

Update 2.6 was the first time Hoyoverse introduced a double banner mechanic, meaning that players will have the chance to opt for two banners at the same time. This is probably miHoYo's way of compensating for the absence of a brand-new five-star character in a banner cycle.

Genshin Impact has introduced a pattern of revealing new characters a couple of weeks before their arrival, probably because they would be leaked either way once the beta phase arrives. The official Version 2.5 live stream has confirmed that the new Genshin Impact character Yae Miko will be featured on the first banner cycle of the upcoming update. A popular leaker named Mia has apparently unveiled all the characters and items that will be featured on update. The first banner cycle will supposedly feature the following characters:

  • Diona (four-star Cryo bow user)
  • Fischl (four-star Electro bow user)
  • Thoma (four-star Pyro polearm user)
  • Yae Miko (five-star Electro catalyst user)

When it comes to the weapon banner, Genshin Impact update 2.5 should include the following items:

  • Rainslasher (four-star claymore)
  • Eye of Perception (catalyst)
  • Stringless (four-star bow)
  • Primordial Jade Cutter (five-star sword)
  • Kagura's Verity (five-star catalyst)

The official Genshin Impact Twitter account has also confirmed another character by the name Kamisato Ayato, who is supposedly scheduled to arrive in update 2.6. When Ayato's voice was teased in an official video, fans went wild with the theory that his arrival might be sooner than expected. From his official character art, his weapon of choice appears to be a sword. Previous Genshin Impact leaks have revealed that his Elemental skill is named Shuumatsu Art, and it allows Ayato to dash sideways while casting an empty shell of himself that taunts enemies.

A part of the community thinks that it's quite ironic that Fischl is paired with Yae Miko on the same banner considering that a recent Genshin Impact leak revealed a damage comparison between those two. The leak claims that Fischl with all constellations outperforms Yae Miko's C0 level, which is quite surprising considering that Yae has a higher rarity. However, it should be noted that these numbers were taken before Yae received a set of significant buffs. Fischl is one of the strongest sub-DPS or support characters in the game, and fans are excited that she will be featured on a limited banner.

Genshin Impact is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. A Switch version is in development with no confirmed release date.
