Genshin Impact has been bringing back banner re-runs frequently, and it seems as though that every new update contains a new character and a banner re-run. The official stream for Version 2.3 revealed the content players will face in the current update, including a double banner re-run as well as two new playable characters, Gorou and Arataki Itto.

Genshin Impact 2.3 has been the first update to introduce a double banner re-run meaning that players will have the chance to opt for two banners at the same time. This is probably miHoYo's way of compensating for the absence of a brand new five-star character in a banner cycle. The double banner is about to pass and players can already start building the right Genshin Impact party for the upcoming characters Itto and Gorou.

A recent leak on the Genshin_Impact_Leaks subreddit has apparently revealed the event art for the upcoming Lantern Rite event which should take place in update 2.4. The art features three characters related to the Liyue region: Shenhe, Xiao, and Ganyu. The fact that both Ganyu and Xiao are featured on event art heavily indicates that they will be obtainable during the upcoming Lantern Rite event. This is one of the usual ways miHoYo hints that a certain character will get his own banner in the foreseeable future. In this case, it most likely means that both of them will be featured on another double banner re-run.

Ganyu has certainly become one of the most popular characters in the game, as she's widely considered one of the strongest DPS characters alongside Eula and Xiao. While other DPS characters like Hu Tao or Diluc can't exist in a vacuum and require some of the strongest supports in Genshin Impact to apply Elemental reactions, Ganyu can work independently in dishing out tons of damage. The same thing can be said about Xiao, who has one of the most unique playstyles in the game.

Shenhe has already been confirmed to be a brand new character coming in update 2.4. She will arrive alongside another polearm character, the prestigious dancer Yun Jin. There is no official information, but both of them are expected to be placed on the same banner which is great news for players that plan to pull acquire both of them. According to multiple leaks, Shenhe is rumored to be the limited five-star character while Yun Jin will be one of the three four-star characters that will make her company.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
