The Traveler of Genshin Impact must travel the world of Teyvat to reunite with their twin. However, they’re hindered by the Fatui and the fearsome Harbingers. The Eleven Harbingers are the highest-ranking members of the Fatui and serve the Cryo Archon, the Tsaritsa. Together, they seek to “seize authority from the gods.”

In a recently released teaser, HoYoverse showcased 9 of the 11 Harbingers, finally putting faces to some of the formerly unknown antagonists. This sparked plenty of discussion among the Genshin Impact community, with many wondering about each Harbinger’s backstory as well as their potential of becoming a playable character.

The Genshin Impact Fatui Harbingers

  • La Signora: La Signora is No. 8 of the Fatui Harbingers and appears to take both Venti and Zhongli’s Gnoses. However, she is slain during the end of the Inazuma arc. Her passing is what brought the rest of the Harbingers together in the Genshin Impact Fatui teaser.
  • Pierro: The first to speak in the Fatui trailer is Pierro, who also happens to be No. 1 of the Harbingers, making him the de facto leader. As the First Fatui, he is known to have recruited other Fatui Harbingers in Genshin Impact, including Dottore, Pantalone, and Scaramouche.
  • Columbina: Columbina is heard singing in the background as the rest of the Harbingers converse. She speaks around the end of the teaser, asking Dottore about his Segments. How she officially numbers among the Fatui is unknown, but in Genshin Impact Childe’s leaked voice lines, he reveals that Columbina is No. 3 and that he’s wary of her abilities.
  • Pulcinella: Pulcinella is No. 5 of the Harbingers, and also the one who welcomed Childe into the Fatui. In the teaser, he’s referred to as “Mayor,” hinting that he holds governmental power in Snezhnaya. Little else is known about his character, but Childe’s leaked voice lines hint that he’s one of the kinder Harbingers.
  • Pantalone: Pantalone is a Genshin Impact Baizhu lookalike and No. 9 among the Harbingers. He’s also revealed to be an economist, suggesting that he’s the one financing the Fatui’s movements. Yelan’s Story Quest suggests that he has an extensive trade network but other than that, not much else is known about him.
  • Arlecchino: Arlecchino’s ranking among the Harbingers is unknown, but she’s known to be the owner of an orphanage in Snezhnaya. In an Inazuma-based Genshin Impact World Quest, it’s hinted that the children raised in the orphanage grow up to become her Fatui agents.
  • Tartaglia: More popularly known as Childe, Tartaglia is No. 11 of the Fatui Harbingers. He’s also the only playable character from Snezhnaya at the moment. Despite being the youngest member of the Harbingers, he’s always eager for a challenge and is a fearsome foe, wielding both a Vision and a Delusion.
  • Sandrone: Sandrone’s ranking is unknown, but she’s unique among the Harbingers as, in the trailer, she’s being carried by a huge automaton. Whether she was the creator of the automaton is unclear, but she seems to have control over it. The true nature of the automaton is yet unknown.
  • Capitano: Capitano is believed to be No. 2 of the Harbingers, given his strength. However, this is not yet confirmed. In Childe’s leaked voice lines, he expresses his desire to fight Capitano, musing over the Harbinger’s superior combat prowess.
  • Il Dottore: Dottore appears primarily in the Genshin Impact manga and is portrayed as a scientist. The trailer hints that he has multiple “Segments” — recreations of himself — that can act independently. As such, the Dottore in the manga was most likely a Segment, and the Dottore in the new trailer is likely the original or a much older Segment.
  • Scaramouche: Genshin Impact’s Scaramouche is No. 6 and the only Harbinger that doesn’t appear in the trailer. He’s apparently cut contact with the Harbingers following Signora’s death. However, Scaramouche has appeared to the player before in Genshin Impact’s older time-bound events.

Genshin Impact is available now for Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
