Genshin Impact fans have recently been celebrating the arrival of two new five-star characters and several in-game events. However, version 1.4 of the game is rapidly approaching and promises plenty of new content. Version 1.3 of the game has become heavily associated with the character Xiao, but as per a new Special Program, it seems that V1.4 will spotlight Mondstadt and the wind in general.

Travelers now have a general roadmap the the upcoming Genshin Impact version 1.4 update, which will apparently introduce several new festive wind-themed events as part of Mondstadt's "Windblume" celebration. Aside from theses events, the update seems to include several expected quality of life adjustments, alongside new characters like the four-star warrior nun, Rosaria.

The game's developer miHoYo has made a tradition of hosting special livestreamed programs in anticipation of major upcoming updates to the game, and as such, March 6 marked the date of a version 1.4 Special Program. This video not only confirmed that Rosaria is arriving as part of the V1.4 update, but also gave an in-depth look at some of the events and additions to expect, some of which are quite windy in nature.

Thanks to this new teaser video, the game's fans now have confirmation that popular five-star character Venti will finally be making a return to the game's banners. Venti will in fact be returning with their own Character Event Wish, held alongside the in-game Windblume Festival, as part of the V1.4 update. While Rosaria will be introduced as a new polearm wielder, players will be able to try and Wish for the powerful five-star Anemo "Archon," Venti.

Many fans of the game saw this announcement coming shortly after the Special Program began, considering the video highlights many of Mondstadt's windiest features, Venti himself included. The fact that the Special Program also had a dual focus on Rosaria, a new character, together with Venti made it seem like Venti might be a part of Rosaria's introduction. Many Travelers are delighted to have another opportunity to add this five-star to their teams, as players can normally only summon "featured" five-star characters during their respective introductory Character Event Wish.

Unless the character is later added to the Wanderlust Invocation (aka Standard Summon) roster, which doesn't always occur, players must simply wait for the character to be featured during another Character Event Wish. In fact, fans of the explosive Pyro mage Klee often voice similar frustrations to those of Venti fans. Both characters were introduced to the game in its early stages and Travelers have yet to receive another opportunity to befriend them. Thankfully though, the 1.4 Special Program doesn't just give hope that other older five-stars will soon return, it confirms it too.

Aside from Venti, players now also know that Version 1.4 will revisit the Hydro user and certified "Bad Boy" known as Tartaglia/Childe. This mercurial five-star character will also receive their own Character Event Wish during Version 1.4, though it's start date is still unclear. Hopefully, players can earn a new mini Oceanid pet by then, as they make a lovely complement to Childe. This news does come as a bit of a double-edged sword though because, as many fans have quickly pointed out, this means that V1.4 might not introduce a new five-star at all.

While this may in fact be true, players should also remember what recently occurred with V1.3 of the game. While players thought that Xiao would be the only newcomer to be followed by Keqing, miHoYo threw its fans a curveball and sneakily introduced Hu Tao as well, directly after Keqing. Who's to say that there aren't more surprises in store for V1.4? After all, Ayaka's been known to be in the works for some time now. Fans will just have to wait and see what's in store for now, but this confirmation at least gives fans some idea of what to expect.

Genshin Impact is available now on the Mobile, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for PS5 and Switch.
