It’s been a little over a month since we’ve had some tasty Gears of War 3 screenshots to show you, and Epic Games have come up with three new screenshots to quench our collective thirst.

Of the three screenshots released, two of them are all about showing off the hectic, gory combat that Gears fans have come to know and love — there’s nothing more satisfying than the roar of a chainsaw as it tears someone in half, or the sound of Clayton Carmine delivering some justice on behalf of his, well, rather unfortunate brothers. It’s still a hot topic whether he should live or die, but Epic announced his fate has already been determined for a charitable cause.

Check out the screenshots for yourself below:

While the Fenix screenshot — the only one not a hectic display of gore — shows him not to be decked out in his usual full uniform (here’s looking at you, Cole), it’s worth noting that the screenshot is entitled Raven’s Nest, which is supposed to be the floating mobile city that is home to Marcus, Dom, Anya, and Jace in the beginning of Gears of War 3. It appears Marcus is there enough to warrant a stenciled name over his bunker room, though he looks as relaxed as he normally does. Giving that this is supposed to be the opening level in Gears of War 3, I think it’s safe to assume his probably looking at all hell breaking loose off-screen.

As Ranter Jonathan Poole put it when discussing yet another batch of Gears 3 screens, Anya still pulls off the “sultry Nordic-warrior-princess look-alike” vibe even as she kicks a locust in the stomach (hey, at least she didn’t go for a low shot). The female contingent of Gears players will finally have a gender-matching persona to play as in co-op and multiplayer gameplay, which is something that a lot of games these days are lacking, despite… well, to be blunt, the fact that women play a ton of games and still don’t get proper recognition for it.

What do you think of these new Gears of War 3 screenshots? Are you liking what you’re seeing?

Gears of War 3 is expected to release this Fall, exclusively for the Xbox 360.
