Epic Games has dropped some new Gears of War 3 screens for all ‘gearheads’ to feast their eyes upon. Though they might not showcase anything entirely new, and are surprisingly devoid of the machismo freight train that is Marcus Fenix, these screens more than make up for it in the visual effects and all out carnage categories.

As we near the end of the first Gears of War trilogy as played out in Gears of War 3, a lot of what gamers have needed to see in order to be sold on the game has been shown. Really, apart from getting their hands on the single player of the game via a demo, Epic Games has had them covered.

What these screens offer isn’t exactly new looks at characters or different Locust enemies, but a series of action poses that symbolize the type of visceral entertainment that one enjoys when playing the Gears 3 multiplayer.

Sure, the screens might be slight variations on what we have seen before — a character in a football (Thrashball in the Gears universe) uniform dealing some damage and newly re-imagined Anya Stroud getting chainsawed by a locust — but the screens certainly should get plenty of gamers revved up for some Gears action.

Feast your eyes on these:

Though a lot of negatives have come from the Gears 3 delay into fall 2011 some positives, aside from enough time to institute a true beta have begun to show. With Gears 3 essentially “in the bag,” Epic has had time to reveal big Gears news, or at least try to reveal Gears news, to express that the developer isn’t done with this universe.

Sure, the story of Marcus Fenix might come to a close with Gears 3, but that doesn’t mean the Locust invasion, or the new Lambent threat will.

Don’t forget that the Gears 3 beta starts in just over a month, with anyone who pre-ordered the Bulletstorm Epic Edition getting an additional week to try to earn some of those valuable medals.

What do you think of these newest screens for Gears of War 3? How many of you plan to check out the Gears 3 multiplayer beta?

Gears of War 3 releases September 20, 2011 exclusively for the Xbox 360.
