Xbox fans have been treated to many new details and announcements over the past couple of days. Less than two days ago, Xbox finally confirmed the existence of the Xbox Series S, a seemingly less powerful, entry-level model to launch alongside the Xbox Series X. Now in a cavalcade of new announcements, it has also been announced that Gears Tactics will be a launch title on Xbox Series X and Series S.

For those that don't know, Gears Tactics is a turn-based strategy game set in the Gears of War universe that launched earlier this year exclusively on PC. The story focuses on Gabe Diaz, the father of Gears 5's main protagonist Kait Diaz, in a dangerous mission set before the first Gears of War game. Reviews for Gears Tactics were mostly positive, with many praising the game for taking a risk on a different genre than the series is known for.

Earlier this morning, The Coalition, the team behind the Gears of War series, announced that Gears Tactics would be available on consoles on November 10, the same day the Xbox Series X and Series S are set to launch. Not only will the tactics game be available on the new consoles, but it will also launch on Xbox One that day as well.

Gears Tactics isn't the only game that was confirmed to be launching with the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S today. Ubisoft also announced that its highly anticipated Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be launching on November 10 to coincide with the console's launch. While the title isn't an Xbox exclusive like Gears Tactics, the idea that it would make its release date the same date as the Series X could sway players into purchasing the new Xbox over PS5, which has yet to receive a launch date.

Gears Tactics coming to Xbox Series X as a launch title is great news for Xbox fans. Many were uneasy about if they should pick up the console when it was announced that Halo Infinite had been delayed into 2021. Without Halo Infinite, Xbox lacked a strong first-party title to launch alongside its system, making many players wonder why they should pick up a Series X or a Series S in the first place. Now with Gears Tactics releasing the same day, players have more of a reason to choose either Xbox console over the PlayStation 5 or even a Nintendo Switch.

Gears Tactics is available now on PC and will release on Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X on November 10.
