Gears Tactics is an adrenaline-packed strategy horde that throws tons of enemies at players because the developer knows the power that the tools at your disposal hold. The chainsaw gun has 99.9 percent odds of slicing even the biggest locust in half or turning a 5-pack of scurrying wretches into grains.

Now, going for missions successfully in this game is all about understanding the different types of monsters, their behaviors as well as knowing the capabilities of your classes. Acquiring extra action points via executions or abilities can help a gamer give enemies a run for their money. At the same time, some weapon modes blended with Overwatch can make sure that a good number of enemies are either interrupted or locked down.  Technically, if a player knows what to look for, just like the professor in Netflix's Money Heist or Valorant they can do the magic. To help with that, here are some pro tips on how to not only achieve victory with the game, but also enjoy it:

10 Revive Injured Friends As Soon As You Can

Downed allies are in a precarious position. Attacks from enemies can easily render them useless for good, resulting in a failed mission or death of the associate. So try and rescue them any time there is an opportunity. And as this goes on, be careful. It is always good to first clear any enemies close as going for them in a dangerous situation might cost a player AP, which would have otherwise been used to do other things.

So when it is safe, always try to revive them. Doing so as soon as possible not only refunds any action points they have not spent yet but also gets them back in the game. Note that downed characters normally rejoin with a slightly lower HP, and if they are hit so much they are likely to be killed instantly.

9 Use Your Grenades

Is there an enemy ‘overwatching' near the end of the battle or in a tight spot? Don't forget a grenade. Although it is a good idea to save missiles, they usually have massive adverse effects on enemies because of their long cooldown feature. Even formidable enemies like Kantus and Boomers will have it extremely rough with stint grenades. They can revive injured allies from afar and offer the entire battalion with a new lease of life if they are in a group.

8 Overwatch

Instead of concentrating on low impact shots at enemies in cover, render them immobile or stop them from doing anything that will harm allies through Overwatch. Cover them with overlapping Overwatch sections from various units. Keep in mind that Gear's Artificial Intelligence feature with explosive ticker enemies, is very good at countering Overwatch.

Similarly, significant hits cannot be scored in Overwatch fields ( The only exception to this is the unlock-able ability on snipers). Also, it is very easy to kill allies if the Overwatch is pointed towards them. So try to stagger the cones in such a way that shots do not overlap.

7 Keep An Eye On Your Ammo

Any fan of adrenaline-packed action games has probably experienced this before; Getting into a firefight and running out of ammo almost immediately or setting a character with AP to use on Overwatch but then realize it can only fire once!

Very demoralizing, right? So check ammo from time to time just to be sure.  While snipers can easily fire and reload during the action and others have battling gear that enhances ammo; For the rest of the characters make sure reloading is done regularly. If it comes to a point where there is no other choice, do not forget grenades or pistols.

6 Slide Into Cover

Any fan of Apex Legends knows what sliding into cover means. Allies can easily slip into cover from a couple of feet like a gigantic magnet is dragging them. The cover magnetism cheats slightly by allowing a player get to areas that would otherwise be out of range.

So look out before making a move and locate spots that are ideal sliding a bit to cover some distance. Even a small change can make a difference allowing a player to hit more enemies or spare some action points for Overwatch.

5 Know The Barracks

In the Barracks is where everything happens in between different missions. So get familiar with the place. Spend skills points, swap out gear, go through cases on the battlefield, inspect characters, customize names and appearance or recruit new soldiers before embarking on another mission.

Also, a gamer will be able to see the composition of missions or any additional goals  have, allowing them to not only equip but also prepare the team properly.

4 Execute As Many Enemies As Possible

Any downed enemy can be executed in Gears Tactics. And this doesn't just give an appealing animation, it also rewards every soldier in the team with one AP ( Except for the executor). This essentially means more shooting, more moving, more grenades, more over-watch and more abilities. Also, grounding several enemies allows a player to bind executions, giving more bonus action points. Now, although there is a reward for killings, they are usually risky for the individual carrying them out as it exposes them. So be cautious.

3 Try To Close Emergence Holes

Yes, Gears Tactics too has emergence holes! They spew enemies in turns until they expire or they are closed. Note that enemies popping out of the emergence holes can attract characters immediately they spawn. A strategically located grenade can help solve this issue, though an ally will have to be relatively close. Another idea is to plant a grenade on the e-holes before enemies pop quickly. They will close immediately they open.

2 Squad Management

This game doesn’t have a broader strategy layer like X-COM does. Instead, the main story is broken up into side missions. These side missions won’t register much in the game’s first act. In the second and third act, however, a gamer will often have to complete two or even three side-missions in a row before moving on to the next chapter.

These missions often have specific parameters, such as a limit on the number of characters that can be deployed, or specific buffs for enemies like increased movement or damage. Also, Gears sent on one mission cannot be sent on another.

1 Choose Side Missions Wisely

Don't go for many side missions, because odds finishing some of them are very high. As such, before going on any mission, check the rewards and descriptions. Go for legendary ones rather than Epic ones.

Keep in mind that allies can only go for one mission every chapter. If they are sent on a certain mission, they will not be useful in the next mission, until there is progress. Similarly, there are some missions that give optional goals that reward fans with some classes. So pick missions wisely and do not be scared of abandoning a mission and retrying it later with a different squared if the current one cannot handle it.
