Epic Games has a number of highly-anticipated games currently in the works for a variety of different platforms, Fortnite and Infinity Blade Dungeons are looking rather spiffy, but no intellectual property owned by the developer is held as highly as Gears of War in the eyes of the masses. That’s why Gears of War: Judgment is one of the most anticipated games coming to the Xbox 360, but the only problem was that gamers weren’t sure exactly when they’d be playing the title. The event known as Comic-Con has provided a stage in which Epic Games can rectify this situation, and they’ve done just that.
During the Gears of War: Past, Present and Future panel, Epic Games revealed that Gears of War: Judgment will be releasing exclusively on the Xbox 360 on March 19th, 2013. Many expected the fourth Gears of War game to release in early 2013, and it’s nice to know exactly when the game will be made available to the hordes of Gearheads.
Taking place prior to the events in the original Gears of War game, fan-favorites Damon Baird and Augustus Cole will take center stage following the E-Day aftermath. Alongside the two returning franchise mainstays are newcomers Sofia Hendrik and Garron Paduk, and all four together make up the team of Kilo Squad. The group of COG militia will be violating direct orders in Judgment as they attempt to save the city of Halvo Bay from the relentless Locust horde.
The game also comes with a brand new class-based mode called OverRun that allows players to take on the role of humans or Locust in an all out war. Epic Games also revealed Gears of War: Judgment‘s new Island map during Comic-Con as well, and the trailer they released for the multiplayer battleground looks like it’ll be an absolute blast.
To recap: Gears of War: Judgment‘s E-Day is set to occur on March 19th, and the game will retail for $59.99.
