Publisher Microsoft and developer The Coalition officially announce all of the pre-order bonuses available for the third-person shooter Gears of War 4.

For the Gears of War 4 fans who are excited about the title's release date later this year, Microsoft and The Coalition are attempting to turn their excitement into reserved copies by offering a bunch of incentives in the form of pre-order bonuses. While the concept is nothing new, especially for the third-person shooter franchise, the publisher and developer are definitely playing up the nostalgia factor with some of the pre-order extras in the hopes of reminding fans how far the series has come with Gears of War 4.

For starters, Gears of War 4 fans who lay down their money before it launches in October will be privy to The Brothers to the End Elite Gear Pack, which includes three different character styles, as well as two gun skins for use in multiplayer. Players will receive an older version of Marcus Fenix, a zombie version of his former partner Dominic Santiago, and a version of Anya as she has once appeared in a commercial for Gears of War 4.

As seen in the images below, Gears of War 4's pre-order bonuses also include a couple of Gold Wave versions of the Lancer Assault Rifle and Gnasher Shotgun. As described by Microsoft and The Coaliton, these firearms are said to be "updated versions of the gold weapon skins awarded to the series’ most-dedicated day one players."

All of these bonuses are more offerings from the Gears of War 4 developer's previously announced extras, such as the Vintage Del Pack, as well as the multitudinous retailer-specific pre-order incentives. Speaking of which, yet another bonus was announced earlier this summer. However, it doesn't specifically require a pre-order, as players who buy the title by the end of the year will get digital copies of the four previous Gears games in their Xbox 360 incarnations which are playable on Xbox One through backward compatibility.

On top of the aforementioned items, those who took part in Gears of War 4's open test earlier this year and made it to level 20 will get beta rewards of cosmetic items if they go on to pick up the full game. Furthermore, a version even more costly than the standard iteration of the title will tack on additional objects, articles, and in-game goodies, with Microsoft dubbing it the Ultimate Edition of the game.

Taking all of this into consideration, it seems as if Microsoft and The Coalition are trying to provide gamers with as much motivation as possible in order to get them to secure a copy of Gears of War 4 before day one. Nevertheless, even with everything that's been shown thus far for the title, a lot of fans who have been with the franchise since the beginning are still wondering how the Cole Train will be making his way into the game. That said, it's possible that developers are either holding off on his official reveal as a special surprise, or are keeping a look at his return under wraps until Gears of War 4 finally drops.

Gears of War 4 is set to release on October 11, 2016 for PC and Xbox One.
