When Epic Games announced that Gears of War 3 would be sporting its own version of the Season Pass for a discounted rate of 2400 MS Points many were outraged, some were excited, while others were confused. To help calm the outrage, and clear up the confusion, Epic Games has released a FAQ for the Gears of War 3 pass that includes many important answers and video of the liquid metal skin in action.

Probably most important to address with Gears of War 3’s Season Pass is the fact that 2400 MS Points nets you all future DLC without having to pay anymore. The wording of the 33% discount caused some confusion, but it’s really just a one-time fee that entitles you to more multiplayer, single player, and horde/beast mode content.

With that cleared up, Epic has also revealed that the DLC will not just be for fans of the multiplayer but will also continue the single player experience in some capacity — and this is not cut content. What exactly that single player DLC will be, we don’t know, but the first DLC is set to roll out in November.

Also, if you’re undecided about picking up the Gears 3 Season Pass — maybe you want to wait and see if the DLC unveiled is worth it — you can wait as long as you like. There is no expiration date for the Season Pass, pick it up whenever you like.

And finally, a video of the liquid metal skin, the instant DLC that purchasers of the Season Pass will gain access to, has been released online to help sway those who might want to pick the Pass up on September 20th. It actually looks really cool — like something ripped from The Terminator.

As questions continue to pop up, Epic is sure to update their FAQ over on their forums, but for now the general questions have been answered. It still doesn’t detract from the bloated price tag, but there is at least a clearer understanding of what gamers are getting themselves into.

Will you be picking up the Gears of War 3 Season Pass when it launches with the game? Or do you want to wait to see what Epic has in store for the game before making a decision?

Gears of War 3 launches September 20, 2011 for the Xbox 360.
