Gears of War 3 Retro Lancer Bundle

Want to own your own piece of Gears of War 3? You can via the the Epic Edition of the game, which gets you a pretty sweet looking Marcus Fenix statuette to lord over any desk or collectible stand. Maybe that’s not enough, though. Maybe you want something that gives you an air of badassery that can only be matched by a large replica assault rifle.

For those of you who find yourselves in the latter category, Epic Games is going to acquiesce your desires. As such, a Retro (aka Pendulum) Lancer will be made available for those fans who need yet another piece of Gears of War 3 in their homes.

The Retro Lancer can be pre-ordered alongside all current editions of Gears of War 3, so you can choose to have a Marcus Fenix statuette on your desk and a kick-ass replica gun on your wall. Including the replica with your copy of Gears 3 will add about $100 to the price tag, so be forewarned — looking cool isn’t cheap. Alternately, you can buy the replica on its own.

Features for the Retro Lancer model are as follows:

  • Created from the actual 3D data used by Epic Games in the Gears of War 3 video game
  • Over 3 1/2 Feet in Length
  • Trigger Activates Machine Gun Sound Effect
  • Hand Painted with weathered and battle worn detail

Oddly enough, the description of the Retro Lancer said it was abandoned a year after E-Day due to its inability to counteract Locust fighting strategies. However, if you used it in the multiplayer beta, you would have discovered that it was way better than the regular Lancer in terms of damage, if inaccurate at long range. Beside that, charging into someone with the bayonet was just as satisfying as chainsawing someone.

With 1 million pre-orders already locked in, how many gamers will bite the bullet and include another piece of Gears memorabilia in their home?

Gears of War 3 will be releasing September 20, 2011, exclusively for Xbox 360.
