Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol Map Pack For 'Gears of War 3' Available Thanksgiving Day

Turkey, football, and Tom Cruise? Available on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, all 'Gears of War 3' players can download a free, 'Ghost Protocol' inspired map pack and register for their very own "Impossible Mission."

It's the holiday season, and Epic Games and Microsoft Studios are starting the festivities with a bonus for Gears of War 3 players: the Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol "Versus Booster Map Pack," available free for download tomorrow, November 24 on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

Inspired by the upcoming film Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, the “Versus Booster Map Pack” will feature five new maps available in social matchmaking playlists: two brand new maps, Bullet Marsh and Clocktower, as well as Azura, Rustlung and Blood Drive from the “Horde Command Pack.”

As if a new map pack along with turkey and football weren't enough for American gamers to digest, Epic Games has teamed up with Paramount Pictures to bring players their own version of Mission: Impossible to tackle. Players around the world who watch the Mission Impossible — Ghost Protocol trailer on Xbox LIVE and then complete the Gears of War 3 campaign on Insane difficulty before December 25, 2011 in either single player or multiplayer will unlock the exclusive Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol Weapon Skin Pack.

This 5-pack of textures includes a Ghost Protocol Lancer, Hammerburst, Retro Lancer, Gnasher Shotgun and Sawed-off Shotgun. All players who register and attempt to complete the campaign on Insane Difficulty will have a chance to win prizes, but only those who accomplish “Impossible Mission” by the deadline will receive the exclusive weapons pack. Those players who have already completed the campaign on Insane will automatically receive the weapon skin pack on December 31, 2011.

Starting tomorrow, players will be able to register for the mission by visiting the Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol experience on Xbox LIVE. The grand prize is an ultimate home theater package including a Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol custom Xbox 360 slim with Kinect, 50” HDTV, 5.1 digital HD home theater system, and the Mission: Impossible complete DVD series.
