As revealed recently on Twitter, Gears 5 will be adding yet another set of fresh guest cameos to its roster today, with WWE superstars The New Day making their debut in the Xbox exclusive franchise. Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston, and Big E are all available to slaughter Locust hordes with, coming complete with a set of colorful armor inspired by their larger than life in-ring gear.

To celebrate the trio's arrival in the world of Gears 5Xbox has released a new trailer showcasing the Raw Tag Team Champions joining the fight to eradicate the Locust armies. Of course, with it being related to the New Day, their arrival is as extravagant and eccentric as possible, featuring bright colors, pyrotechnics, and some brutal wrestling moves.

The footage begins by showing off all three of the WWE superstars entering the fray in their sparkly COG armor, with the trio's in-game models looking remarkably similar to their real-life counterparts. The trailer then cuts to several scenes showcasing the guest characters in action, revealing that they'll have their own variation of the breaker mace with pink crystals and a New Day inspired hilt. They appear to complete with their own set of emotes too, with one segment in the trailer focusing on Woods, Kingston, and Big E performing their notorious dance moves as seen on WWE TV.

The rest of the trailer shows the group performing executions on Locusts, with the gruesome end results handily covered up with vibrant New Day explosion graphics. One of these moments even reveals Big E performing a pile driver on an enemy, which is an appropriate final blow for the professional wrestling mainstay. The guest cameos look to be an excellent fit for Gears 5, bringing their vibrant style, irreverent humor, and action-packed wrestling moves to a whole new world. Seeing as Xavier Woods - host of the YouTube channel UpUpDownDown - has been a major part of the gaming community over the years, the team is definitely a worthy addition to the game's lineup of playable characters.

The longest-reigning Tag Team Champions in WWE history will join a long list of guests to pop up in Gears 5, including both The Terminator and Sarah Connor, as well as Halo Reach's Kat and Emile. Of course, they'll also be able to fight alongside fellow WWE Legend Batista, who first joined the game back at launch. Thanks to a new update that landed alongside the Xbox Series X, players can even substitute Batista for Marcus Fenix in Gears 5's campaign, riffing on the actor's desire to play the character in a live-action Gears of War movie.

Gears 5 is out now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
