Gears 5 is available now and Xbox One owners are busy powering through the game's campaign mode and finding out what happens in the latest chapter of the Xbox exclusive saga. There are new and old characters to meet and reunite with and the game's big bulky aesthetic has only grown in the age of 4k gaming. All of the old favorites are here and looking thicker than ever and one iconic character happens to bear a striking resemblance to a famous professional wrestler this time around.

The connect between Gears 5 and WWE has already been established for many fans thanks to the exciting addition of Bautista as a playable character, but this latest connection is a little less official. Whether it was intentional or not, many players are taking to Twitter and Reddit to note how similar Baird looks to WWE's Goldberg this time around. I mean, have you ever seen those traps anywhere else?

For those who are unaware, Baird, or Damon S. Baird, is a character from the original Gears trilogy who is a Coalition soldier and all around brilliant dude. His character pops back up in Gears 5 as a scientist and the new character design reminds a lot of players of the longtime WWE antagonist Goldberg.

It seems unlikely that the character redesign was actually inspired by Goldberg, but there is definitely a strong resemblance between the two hulks when you look at them side by side...

Whether you're a wrestling fan or not, there's a lot about Gears 5 to love. Gears 5 is receiving rave reviews and is a must play for Xbox One owners. The Microsoft ecosystem doesn't often get must play exclusives this console generation, so PC or Xbox One owners should definitely take the time to check this game out while hype is still at all all-time high.

Be sure to check back in the coming days for more Gears 5 strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there.
