Unless you’ve been living under a rock, and said rock has no web access, you’ve undoubtedly been hearing the slew of rumors about Apple’s (most likely) upcoming tablet.

Since the official invites went out to notables in the tech scene for Wednesday’s event, there has been even more chatter – especially after seeing these invites didn’t just go to tech bloggers, but a handful of gaming sites. There is also talk that Electronic Arts may be working with Apple regarding their “latest creation.” This can only mean that Apple intends on pushing deeper into the gaming sector with future devices.

Apple has steadily made their way into the gaming market with the iPhone and iPod Touch, and more aggressively within the past six or so months. We’ve seen ports of Assassin’s Creed, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, Rock Band and more. It’s no surprise that they would want to take advantage of the gaming market with their upcoming touch device; especially if some of the rumored stats are true and the tablet carries a ten inch OLED screen.

The only way to know the exact details is sit tight until Wednesday the 27th to see what the camp at 1 Infinite Loop has up their sleeves. We will report all of the gaming information about Apple’s device on Wednesday, so be sure to check in!

What would you like to see in the long-awaited Apple tablet? Are you excited for it or do you think it’s an unnecessary device that sits between smartphones and laptops?
