Black Friday isn’t far away now, and many retailers are taking advantage of the holiday season to announce new sales and deals, some being dubbed early Black Friday while others aren’t. The point stands, though, that the season is here. Details on Sony’s PlayStation Black Friday deals, for example, recently leaked online, while Nintendo has already announced some of its deals for later this month.

Other companies, like Amazon, have already hosted sales like Buy 2 Get 1 Free, while Walmart is offering new deals every week. GameStop is getting in on the season now, revealing its own Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale. Shoppers should be warned, though, that GameStop’s isn’t as cut and dry as Amazon’s.

This is because GameStop is actually hosting two different types of Buy 2 Get 1 Free sales. The first B2G1 applies to select pre-owned games by the company, while the second B2G1 applies to new games. The two sales do not mix and match, so when choosing games and putting them into an online cart, shoppers will need to be mindful that all three games match the sale, that the deal goes through, and all of that.

Still, despite the small hassle, there are a plethora of games available at GameStop for these deals. Some notable titles belonging to GameStop’s NEW game Buy 2 Get 1 Free Sale include popular and brand new releases like Guardians of the Galaxy, Far Cry 6, Skyrim: Anniversary Edition, Shin Megami Tensei 5, and more. For PRE-OWNED games for this GameStop sale, there are titles like Deathloop, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Marvel’s Avengers, New Pokemon Snap, Resident Evil 2 Remake, Red Dead Redemption 2, and far more.

Video games are a pretty universal gift, even if for one’s self or loved ones. All of the above games would go along great, whether shopping for Xbox Series X holiday gifts, Switch holiday gifts, PS5 holiday gifts, or PC holiday gifts this year. Obviously, hardware is a bigger commitment, but if shoppers can get their hands on a new console, those gifts certainly go a long way.

There are various methods to finding/getting a PS5/Xbox Series X this holiday season, but the main thing is to be prepared as possible with all major retailers online, keep an eye out for all announcements, set up notifications for restocks, and follow any number of dedicated social media accounts that post deals regularly. With the right console and some games to go with it, it’s bound to be a really good first legit holiday season for PS5 and Xbox Series X owners.
