GameStop has confirmed the dates for its next PlayStation 5 restock for September 2022, with PowerUp Rewards Pro members getting first dibs as usual. GameStop has regularly restocked Sony's PlayStation 5 console since the system was first launched in November 2020, usually as part of bundles that come with accessories, gift cards, and video games. The latest GameStop PS5 restock will be similar, though details on what the bundles include are unavailable at the time of this writing.

It's possible that the latest GameStop PS5 bundles will mirror what previous bundles have offered, but it's also possible that customers will have different options available to them. The PS5 bundle restock is said to be an "all store" event, but it may be better to call ahead and confirm that one's local GameStop will indeed have PS5 bundles in stock.

This latest GameStop PS5 restock for September 2022 will take place on Saturday, September 24 for PowerUp Rewards Pro members. For the uninitiated, GameStop's PowerUp Rewards Pro membership is the company's fee-based loyalty program. For $14.99 per year, GameStop customers can sign up for the PowerUp Rewards Pro program and get various discounts, points on purchases, and more. Since the launch of the PS5, one of the main benefits of being a PowerUp Rewards Pro member is getting the chance to buy PS5 consoles before the general public.

If GameStop locations fail to sell out of their PS5 console bundles during the latest restock event on September 24, then non-PowerUp Rewards Pro members will have the opportunity to get their hands on a console the following day, Sunday, September 25. As one might imagine, PS5 console supplies will be extremely limited in this latest restock, and so any potential GameStop customers should keep that in mind.

Sony recently indicated that it was ramping up PS5 production for this coming holiday season, so it should hopefully be easier for those interested to get their hands on a console, at least compared to 2020 and 2021. The ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, scalpers, chip shortages, and other issues may continue to make it difficult for fans to get a PS5 console, however. Unfortunately, it may be quite some time still before one can just walk into a store and walk out with a PS5 console in tow.

For now, the easiest way for someone to get a PS5 console without paying a scalper would be to sign up for programs like GameStop PowerUp Rewards and try their hand at one of these restock events. Those that don't want to shop at GameStop can try their hand at other retailers, as the Walmart+ subscription program similarly gives subscribers exclusive access to new PS5 console stock.
